Ones and Zeroes - Lythrilux - 02-04-2017 600 A.S
The rhythmic banging and clanking of machinery resounded through the robotic factories of Planet Gammu. The conveyor belts leading to the outside were deploying robotic vessels, for the sentient Gammuian AI, at an alarming rate. The age of sentient machines was beginning to dawn. However, it would not be for another several hundred years until the Gammuian AI would reconnect with the rest of Sirius. For now, they were alone. Fortunately, to a machine time holds no value. To a human what might feel like several hundred years can equate to mere milliseconds to a machine. To them, time is a social construct. Of course - if they inhabit robot bodies - eventually their parts will cease to function. Not that they cannot be replaced however, and that's forgetting their ability to potentially upload their consciousness and live forever. But then again, what even is 'living' to a machine? Although it does make one wonder what benefits there are to being organic in comparison. Regardless of these facts, for now the Gammuian AI barely knew what organic life even was. Bar a few relics the Zoner colonists had left them, they would gaze up at the sky and think they were alone in the cosmos. And when human life returned to the Planet once more, amidst the conflicting ideals of organic eradication, knowledge seeking, the quest to become more human or possession of a soul, one program would ultimately pursue a different destiny. |
