Guided by the wish for stability and peace, the Independent Miners Guild condemns the violent actions committed by the Council and the Crayter Republic in the recent Tau 44 offensive.

These unprovoked acts of war threaten the peace and stability that the Taus have settled down to after the initial violent stages of the conflict. The renewal of military operations in Tau 44 has already caused unnecessary loss of life, and it puts civilian installations at a heightened risk to be caught in the cross fire.

Therefore, the Guild calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a withdrawal from the occupied positions to pre-conflict positions with the aim of de-escalating the situation and finding a diplomatic solution.

The Independent Miners Guild expresses its grave concern that an armed conflict in Tau 44 could spread into Tau 23, which could result in an uncontrollable escalation of violence with much higher loss of life and more hardship for the Tau inhabitants.

Reiterating our firm belief in peace, the Guild calls on the warring parties to abide by humanitarian conventions of war and to humanely treat prisoners of war. The Guild offers its unique diplomatic position in the Tau conflict to facilitate cease-fire negotiations and prisoner exchanges.
