His father was George Synk, a xenoarcheologist which is believed that he was in the staff of professor Roland Quintaine developing theories about Slomon K'Hara influence and expansion on Sirius sector. His mother was Dana Synk, a biologist working on Cambridge Research Station. At an early age Dave knew that his future is among the stars, to contribute to humankind’s technological progress. He followed the Manhattan Science Academy where he was a good student like the average.
For a long period of time during his teenage years towards to early adulthood he had really missed the attention given from his father and more rather he was “tutored” and taken care from far away. The Manhattan Science Academy (MSA) was rather an elitist institute and usually, students were the offsprings of notable staff members from the Liberty’s Science Department, a House institution in which Dave’s father was not a part off, because it was rumored that he worked with the Liberty Navy on a distant research station somewhere inside Navy territory. He had several apparitions inside the Department but he was always viewed by his notorious colleagues in a bad light, because of his connections. The sins of his father were taken to Dave himself later on at the Academy. People knew about his family name and whom his father was and he was always considered as a casted out type of person. Several approached him, but most of his Academy years were filled with mockery and ironies and passive-aggressive behavior from the other students. The professors though saw the potential in his mind, despite the lack of actual grades and performances like some others, rather did well. Even more reasons for hate against him, because of his lack of implication but with unusual good results in the end. The advantage from the rest was that he was a man of vision and perspective. Where many saw only the possible sides of a problem, he saw the extra dimensions and took advantage of that. He was attracted by the xenobiology and xenoarcheology, which mostly were inspired by his father. He was fascinated with the possibilities that the cosmos itself can behold and how many similarities there were going around across the variety of worlds that humans had a grip upon. During his final years of the Academy he put more studies with some totally different fields of work. Space-Time Continuum physics and quantum mechanics. And he became good. His ideas were brilliant. As a final thesis he created an autonomous system that was installed into several Trade Lanes inside the New York system, in order to improve the sublight speed acceleration of the transportation. It was rather a success. After he finished the studies at the M.S.A. he was recommended by professor Dr. Steve Newalt, to apply as researcher assistant aboard Ageira Technologies. In his first year of work he performed his job well aboard Detroit Munitions station in the New York System. He was offered also to go work at their base on Planet Los Angeles but he was attracted more to the risks and beauty of space. He researched ways to improve and quicken the Jump capabilities of the Jump Gates. Being intrigued by history as well, he started to follow the leads of how the Jump Gate technology was discovered, since all the Academy claims were made stating that it was developed by the Houses several hundred years ago, by simulating the behavior of the jump hole anomalies the first explorers encountered. Digging into some leaked information by his senior scientist team leader, he came across the name Valhalla One but he was never able to find more about it. He was already skeptical. Some more time passed and he was rather bored with his duties and lack of progression inside Ageira, he felt it was not his call. He heard about Deep Space Engineering being in a technological conflict with Ageira, so he hoped it would be easy to join them and rather follow his dreams to go into the deepest reaches of space. He didn’t know that it was not DSE to lead him there, but something related further on. He joined Deep Space Engineering, and to his disappointment, the group was not far better than Ageira, it was just a typical stereotype of a mega-corporation. His dreams where shattered when he wasn’t even a researcher assistant, but he was assigned to a freighter, to deliver trade lane parts from several bases inside the New York system. Despite he started to yell here and there what he saw at Ageira about a mysterious name called ‘Valhalla One’ that had to do with the Jump Gate’s creation, but nobody cared about him. His rescue came from his father when he contacted him to join some real work with the LSF, for they wanted to create an unique deep space exploration division. At first he was annoyed by his far away typical interference with his own life, but the idea was more brightened than the last two anyways. He joined LSF taking his small DSE freighter with him which he transformed it into a mobile research laboratory with the LSF. He met the famous Gold Wing of the Liberty Navy, he was amazed by their discipline order and how everyone from LN and LSF admired them. He met there Ashley Foxx, the first true love of his life. She was a pilot in the Liberty Navy that was tasked to join this new Liberty Deep Space Recon squadron. For a period it was all good, and Dave proposed Ashley at a point to become his fiancé, which she accepted happily. His happiness and life would completely change 180 degrees after an event that he was traumatized even today. The squadron was assigned to a mission in the Baffin system to explore an extra-solar system anomaly that appeared on the Liberty Pulsation Scanners. They arrived at it. The anomaly was situated at almost 300 k away from the epicenter of the system. What they saw was an anomalous jump hole of huge proportions, it was a miniature version of the enigmatic Razgriz Blackhole. They were pulled in and arrived into an unknown solar system. Dave knew the nearby star constellations but he recognized none over there. The system was gigantic and the planets were mostly shattered. Synthetic colossal structures were seen from the distance and even further more away into space below and above, were seen what he later found to be two Dyson Spheres close to each other. Between them was some form of energy generated by two spires coming from both the Sphere’s outer shells that seem to go to infinity. They ran fast to the unstable jump hole but unfortunately some unknown kind of alien probes came resulting in the loss of two of their squad mates and one captured Ashley’s ship. In desperation he almost sacrificed his ship to give the necessary force to rip the grip from the alien probe that gripped Ashley’s craft. But he was pulled by one of his surviving squad mates back through the jump hole that closed within. Back, they were waited by a full fleet of Liberty Navy accompanied by the Gold Wing. They were taken in, for questioning and “potentially threatening the security of the Liberty Government.” Dave couldn’t believe that, plus that he was shocked from what he saw and the loss of his significant other. He tried to contact his father but for no good use, the contact never existed apparently. His luck was that on their way to the Alaska system the fleet was attacked by a mysterious group of fighters and he had seconds to break free from his Tractor block and flee with freighter far away from Liberty. || Turning point and the Omicrons Dave eventually got himself far away into some Border Worlds, presumably Omega 3 where he saw prior to arriving to the local Freeport Station, in the distance, an unusual black moving particle cloud that surrounded some ships. Some hours later, he heard that the Planet Cambridge was attacked by a terrorist group called “The Phantoms”. Those were the Phantom ships he saw in Omega 3. Fortunately for him his mother didn’t live on the side of the planet that was bombarded with a MOX tactical warhead which killed millions. Eventually a Bretonian ex-BAF pilot came into the same bar, being shocked and frustrated about the news, it was like his life went to dust, because it basically had. His friends, family and all died that day on Cambridge. The name of the pilot was Jack Aubrey, and would change Dave’s simple failed scientist life to something he couldn’t even fathom.
Jack and Dave became good friends of similar sufferings and motives, they understood each other perfectly and Jack came with the idea to go to the deepest Omicrons systems to search for a military group called The Order, for him to take revenge upon the Phantoms and for Dave to find the answers to what he saw there and how to get Ashley back. So they did as first Jack and Dave joined the Order Main Fleet, to later form a more smaller and better organized cell called Cerberus. Dave came to discover more and more secrets about Sirius and he was more intrigued about the Slomon’K’Hara race, or the Nomads as they were mostly a myth for the common Sirians. The Order saw to impose discipline and protection of the Liberty sector by destroying everyone who threatens human life. Jack and Dave’s Cerberus thought differently, that in order to preserve and save humanity, one must first advance, ethically, technologically and socially. And so Cerberus was born inside The Order’s heard, Omicron Minor. The idea of this cell was more attractive by many Order pilots and angent and easily the Cerberus Organization begun to expand dramatically, making the Order and their Main Fleet’s leaders look very bad. Division and inner conflicts begun within but with the coming years, Cerberus and The Order thought together against the Core mainly and ocassionally with Nomad incursions, because Cerberus tried to avoid them and rather communicate with them. With Cerberus, Dave started to develop himself more and more to become a very well known figure in the science reputation of all Sirius even. Rumors said he has no match even today when it comes to intricate science problems, and development of new kinds of technology. He was a valuable resources and it is for his current workgroup. Cerberus technology managed to experiment with many forbidden ideas and toys that were against Order regulations and sometimes to ethics itself, but it served the higher bidding. The ending of Cerberus firstly came with Jack disappearing after one last mission they had on the surface of planet Sprague, when they wanted to retrieve information about ancient K’Vosh galactic maps and possible remnants of the old artifacts that Edison Trent and his crew used against the K’Hara race. Leading Cerberus, Dave started to explore more the idea of the Nomads becoming rather an ally and rather to understand them. Some heard that Cerberus started to make dealings with the Core itself and in more secrecy with Das Wilde, Aoi Iseijin and even with the Nomad race themselves. The goal was to eradicate The Order and to be replaced with Cerberus. Dave’s motives to understand the mysteries of the Sirius cluster and beyond, made the plan in vain. The last notable event within Cerberus during his leadership was when the Order main fleet combined with Cerberus forces marched inside the heart of Omicron Iota. Surprisingly for the Order, Cerberus turned arms against them, obliterating some of them, while making lesser flee. Then the Nomads were intrigued by Dave’s motives, and he opened his mind to them, letting them know that his thoughts were pure about peace and that he wanted knowledge about his old tragedy. The Nomads were not clear, perhaps even they didn’t know what Dave saw back there, but he was left to leave. Perhaps the only human to stand and face even the ancient Marduks, to speak and communicate, and be left to leave. He then disabled the Cerberus network matrix, he ordered his men to disband and disappear and so the name was never heard again. || Current status After the events in Iota, it was presumed Dave left the Sirius cluster for a little while, to seek knowledge elsewhere, going around the nearby solar systems he presumed to be used by the Nomads. He saw marks of an ancient violent past. There were ruins like in Sirius, remnants of something ancient, but he didn’t understood well. By returning, he explored under several new IDs all parts of Sirius to observe from the shadows and to find someone likeminded to help his motives. Until he ran across the Omicrons again and found Jared Nomak, an individual with extra-Sirian origins, from a planet called Samarra.
Even more, a planet guided by the Nomads. This made him very intrigued, and got in touch with mr. Nomak more, only to find the similar ideals that once his old friend Jack had. He knew from the start he could trust him. So he accepted to join the new group, a more varied and different form of what it was for Jared known as Samarran Raiders before. It is now known as The Commune. The individuals inside are well trained men. Skilled assassin’s, diplomats, manipulators, spokesman, influential and charismatic, intelligent and cunning. It’s even better than what Dave had in his own group years ago. The whereabouts of Dave Synk now are with the Commune, at least the last sighting of him. There are rumors he kept his existence far away from the Order space to avoid contact with old and familiar faces, because some personal implications would make things delicate. From the innocent young aspirant for science to a fully life scarred experienced researcher, Dave’s life was a constant progression, perhaps not as he thought at first during his years of youth. The presumed fields of work that he know manipulates with ease are : - Space-Time continuum Physics, -Quantum Mechanics & Physics, -Xenobiology, -Xenoarcheology, -Nano to Attotechnology, -Adaptive Hybridization of Technology and Genetic Sequencing, -Advanced Propulsion Physics, -Dark Energy & Matter research He’s goals now serve within the Commune and the group is already on a wind of constant advancement. || Extra classified information. After the Iota Exodus it is presumed that when Dave opened his mind towards the K’Hara so they could see he is of good will they introduced in his subconscious plans of hybrid human-nomad implants for him to create for himself. He stated that he has a part of his memory which is blackened, inaccessible or even erased. He only has small glimpses of his laboratory aboard his old Cerberus vessel in which he is surrounded by autonomous surgical machines.
He is aware of the implants and he made use of them, for a while, to interact with the technology created by him. With recent events, the implants began to be fully triggered and he shows signs of telepathy with gifted humans as well. He is not aware of the implications inside his body of the implants but he presumes that his entire cortex and nervous system are augmented, as long with the eyes, heart and several other organs. There might be further information but he never released them about himself. |
