Tales from a Gaijin(open to all) - Voranathos Cide - 04-20-2017 Entry 001 19.4.0425 Well Im on my own now. I barely made it to the escape pod before our freighter core went critical. My father and brother were not so lucky. If it wasnt for that LPI patrol spotting our ship going up I probably would have died out there. Without a ship of my own it took me weeks to scrape enough for passage back to my fathers warehouse on New Tokyo. It was assumed that all of our family had died, so you can imagine the surprised looks I got when I finally returned home. Unfortunately, when I got back I found out all of our goods, equipment, and warehouse had been seized and auctioned off to pay back the cost of our last load, taxes, and unfinished contracts. Desperately destitute, I have decided to sell off my family home of 8 generations(yeah figure that out btw. 8 generations born and raised on New Tokyo and I am still considered Gaijin) and buy a new ship to rebuild my familys name and business. With any luck, I will restore honor to my family and gain a bit of profit in the process. Guess thats it for now. I vaguelly remember agreeing to escort someone to the border of Liberty space, and being paid in Ale(I assume the latter anyway as my ship is littered with many cases of empty bottles of that stuff). I found several miners I apparently picked up for a party passed out drunk in the ball room. Also found several.....ahem ....."ladies" that the miners snuck onboard with them. Im gonna need to get this thing cleaned by a crew from over at ALG before I leave. After dropping everyone off at the nearest station I could find(Dort something I think, idk my head is still pretty fuzzy) I decided to hang around in Rheinland and see the sights for a couple days. I was even told when I decided to return to home to Kusari I could avoid Liberty altogether(lets face it, if it wasnt for the beer and the deep pockets of their corps, nobody would willingly go there). Well Im off to New Berlin. Heard there was a couple of good music venues to check out. Flynt RE: Tales from a Gaijin(open to all) - Voranathos Cide - 04-24-2017 Entry 003 24.4.0440 The Trampus was running hot all the way to Stutgart. I barely had time to land before she overheated and had to be shut down. When the mechanic came back from the engine room she was holding more empty bottles of Liberty Ale(Im starting to dislike miners). It seemsa couple of the miners thought it would be a good idea if the ship had a few drinks with them so they poured a couple cases into the coolant tanks. If I ever see those miners again Im taking the cost of my new engine out of their hides. On the bright side, Ive had a couple extra days to check out Rheinland with my new mechanic when shes not working on the ship Starting to think I should break down here more often. Gotta wake Ilsa for her shift. Signing off Flynt RE: Tales from a Gaijin(open to all) - Voranathos Cide - 04-24-2017 Entry 004 24.4.1730 New engine has been installed and Im off. The Trampus has never run so well. Ilsa even had the new turrets I ordered installed before I woke up this morning. I gave her my old turrets as a bonus for the fast work. One of Ilsa's techs pointed me towards Frankfurt as the fastest way to Kusari space. Once I make a few jumps to breakin the new engine in Im gonna start my journey through the Border Worlds. Never been on that side of Sirius but it sounds like a fun trip. Lets hope I dont run into any trouble along the way. Threw a couple parties in the Sigmas and made enough to cover the costs of most of my new engine and sight seeing in Rheinland. With some better planning I think I might visit the area a couple times a year for a party tour. Headed to Bretonia to discuss a couple of longterm contracts. If all goes well I might be able to hire another freighter pilot and have my own small convoy going. Ah it feels good to dream big again. Time to fly. Spent 4 days in Bretonia only to find out one buyer only wanted a single delivery of water. While the second buyer wanted robotics at the manufacture's price(like hell). I shoulda stayed in Kusari. Time to hunt down leads on a longterm delivery route. On top of it all the pirates were thick as flies around Bretonian space. Those guys dont seem to have a very good grip on their borders or trade lanes. Im so glad I bought those new turrets in Rheinland. If this keeps up I may have to turn to escort duties for a while to keep the company afloat. IvIve been chased non stop for days by dozens of difffernt pirates. Through dump luck Ive found alot of jump hoes but I have no idea wheere any of these systems arr. Its like a melting ppot for every pirrate group in Sirus. Sensors are alll but useles out here, dust, gas, radatoin and everything else is too thik. When I finally picked up a station on my sensos, it fired on me without returrning my hails. I didnt pllan on being out this long, aand the last party I threw in Reinlind cleaned out most of my food store/rations. At least my water suply is good. I can just filter the pool watr if I get disparate enough. I have got to find a Freport or a jump hol to a system in my navcom before they widddle away my beatiful ship. Its ben 3 hours since the last attack. Might be able to catch a couple hours sleepp. Flunt RE: Tales from a Gaijin(open to all) - Voranathos Cide - 05-14-2017 Entry 008 14.05.0500 I don't know how, but I made it home. The couch in my office at the warehouse never looked so good. I must have slept for 2 days straight. I even turned down a 1 way load to Kepler in favor of some extra sleep. Gotta cut this short, there is a gentleman at the door and that means it's time to make money again. No more rest for the wicked. Flynt RE: Tales from a Gaijin(open to all) - Voranathos Cide - 05-27-2017 Entry 009 27.5.0515 The gentleman from my last entry was the agent for some up and coming Rheinlander popstar. Apparently [redacted] saw a vid of a geisha liner and demanded to have one as [redacted]'s tour ship while in Kusari. While he was going over their end of the contract requirements, I had a feeling this would be a badi idea. Then the agent mentioned that he also wanted me to transport all of the stage equipment for the show. At this point I chime in with how much for the trip?......$15 million credits plus all expenses including any repairs to the ship needed along the way(my stipulation as we had to leave House ZOI) for 10 days of my time. It wasnt bad until after [redacted]'s first show that the reasoning for the fine print(no radio communications from the ship during travel to and from shows) became clear. 6 different people were found hiding inside the hold before the end of the night. I had to sweep the ship for cameras, homing beacons, microphones, you name it. The insanity of it all. I had to go on silent, which being in a geisha luxury liner, with saseng fans trying to trace our every move......is VERY *@&#^$! HARD TO DO!!!! Oh it gets better! They setup [redacted]'s ENTIRE *@&#^$! stage with sound equipment in my main hold so [redacted] could rehearse during long flights.......in a big...hollow....metal...hold.....Oh and dont get me started on that ego-brat's entorage(not part of the original contract btw). 30 of the most selfish, obnoxious, entitled, groupies you've ever met. On a plus note, I hired a couple of temps to run my kitchen and bar and selling it all for 10x my usual price(only had to cut them in for 10% of the till plus tips).Overall it was the worst 12 days of my life. When I came in this morning he had left a message at the office. He offered me triple our initial agreement, plus 10% of the tour profits if I would be their transport for [redacted]'s tour of Liberty......... Soooooo.......Im off to resupply my bar and kitchen, then hire a proper crew. Its gonna be a long trip through liberty. Flynt |
