RE: An odd sighting

Mr Goldwell,

I praise your decision to walk away from the object you moved away from, as I fear I recognise it from certain holograms we managed to recover a while back. I am going to need to ask you to pop back to Java at the earliest possible time so that the scientists in Lab 2B on the Trailblazer can analyze your navigation computer.

Also, please make sure when you're exploring to note down any sightings of minable zones for us to examine further. We can never have too many mining areas after all.

In other news, a bit late, I admit, but I was busy with Zach- I mean, busy with other work, and forgot to put this through, just a kill against a CSS scimitar, nothing important.

Later all,

RE: An odd sighting

I, of course, turned my nav data over to the techs along with the objects I picked up, I hope your chaps can make something of it, as I cannot.

As for mineable areas, there was nothing of interest to be found, merely the usual ice asteroids so common to this part of the Barrier.

RE: Mining ship

I believe mining vessels may be acquired from California, tho it may be possible to obtain them from another source. If you contact me over our secure comms, I may be able to verify the location of these vessels, and possibly find something nearer to your area of operations.

RE: Up and Running

Wilson here, I have purchased my mining ship and have resumed mining operations. I picked her up at Freistadt for a dime. She ain't the prettiest ship in the yard, but she's damn well near the biggest. This mining ship is a little bigger than my camara, and I have hired on a crew to run the ship and smelters. I've been able to pull in about 33 000 units of Ni an hour, and the credits are rackin' up. Anyways, just reportin' in.

Wilson out.

RE: Battle in Tau 23

Lady and Gentlemen,

I understand there was quite the battle in Tau 23 today. According to reports, IMG vessels operated in a highly restrained manner, tractoring life pods and safeguarding Java Station. Upon hearing of these developments, I immediately dispatched our Director of Security Operations, Mr. Bernal Eisenhower, to Java to aid in its defense and contribute to rescue efforts.

Allow me to commend you for your prudent behavior, and to reiterate Gateway's continued support for the Guild and our strategic partnership.

Sincerely yours,

Alisdair Buchanan

FROM: Claude Foster
RE: Trade Run

Good day fellow guildmembers!

After our last run, we ended up in New Tokyo where we acquired some Robotic Components. Today, the crew and I finally took them to Dounby in Orkney, where they were sorely needed. We then picked up a load of Cobalt.

At this point I ran into Mark Johnson of our Defense Division. He proceeded to escort me, my crew, and the cobalt to Shinjuku station. We bartered with the salespeople there - they drive a hard bargain - and eventually reached an agreement for a load of quantum multiplexors.

Our two ships proceeded to Aland Shipyard, where the multiplexors were distributed for our construction efforts there. The engineers appreciated it!

Now, the crew has gone to acquire a nice meal while we're moored here, which I will also do once this paperwork is filed.

RE: Strange Vessels

Good Evening Guildmembers,

I just got back from patrol on Java, and I have two strange sightings to report.

After neutralizing some outcasts near the Tau- 39 Jumphole, I encountered a trader known as "BALKAN~EXPRESS". He was hauling over 4000 units of niobium. Interestingly, he possessed a Daumann ID, but had no IFF identification. I felt that the boys at the Falk wouldn't have sold that much, or even any, niobium to a Daumann man. Suspicious, I hailed the trader. By this point, I had engaged to cruise to follow him, but he was out of CD range. After remaining silent for some time, he spat out some gibberish I couldn't understand. I followed him to the '31 gate but did not pursue him further, as I needed to return to my patrol.

My second sighting occurred as I flew from the gate back to Java. I was detecting massive radar and instrumentation pickups from the Orkney Jumphole. As it was on my way back, I took a slight detour to investigate. My scanners are good, so 4k from the target, I exited cruise and set down on a nearby asteroid. To my surprise, the ship was a Gallic Royal Navy vessel, cruiser class, "GRN-Liberte". At this point I became highly suspicious. I hailed the vessel and asked his purpose. Being in my Nyx, I was in no condition to engage, but I felt it my duty to gain as much info as possible. The Gallian was quiet, and appeared to be on recon. I am however confounded by several facts.

1. How did the Gallian get to '23. From what I know, The Council controls the whole system in Languedoc. How'd this GRN fellow get all the way through Languedoc, into the minefield, past Reunion and into '23. Clearly there need to be some more security checks.

2.If the Gallians sent a cruiser on a mere recon mission, '23 must be pretty important. This could be the beginning of a major offensive.

I have returned to Java, and after several stiff drinks, I feel a little better.

Jack Brighton signing out.

5. Casualties on both sides

the Corsair

6. Other interesting events
as i undocked from Java i noticed an IMG pilot named The.Undertaker and a CR patrol vessel identified as Gold-2 was in a fight with an Outcast named Sehti.Vehk. I asked if they needed help and was surprised for them to reply with yes, i entered the fight and shortly after the CR vessel fell to his guns, after another 5 minutes of hard fighting i managed to take him down with a few nuke mines but not before taking heavy damage myself ( they were pretty extreme tactics i had to resort to)

after that i proceeded to New London under request from Gateway for escort duties, after 20 minutes of arriving though there was no sign of any Gateway Vessel but i was joined by Miss Syana from R&D whom helped fight against a Corsair who fired upon her.

we managed to take it down and waited for a further 10 minutes but stil no Gateway ships had arrived so we went back to normal duties, unfortunatly i hit my head on the panel above my during the fight and cannot remember what the Corsair's name was.

Ian out.

2. Mining location: Tau-23, Java Station, Niobium Field
3. Material mined: Niobium
4. Escorts hired: None
5. Hostiles encountered: Junker
6. Any other interesting encounter or event: I was robbed.

Greetings Guildmembers,

I am not pleased. Just now, as I was mining niobium, I was attacked and robbed. A Junker in a Slave Liner cruised right up to my craft, proceeded to attack me, and then demanded 5 million credits. I attempted to flee, but the liner was in possession of a train cruise disruptor. The Junker was known as "Anika_Jade" and after scanning her hold, I discovered her to be both Iff'd and Id'd as a Junker. Cannily, I claimed to not have 5 million credits, and I offered 3. The Junker accepted, but demanded all my niobium, about 2500 units, almost a full hold. In the end, I lost about 4.8 million credits. The most ridiculous part, however, is yet to come. After retrieving my cargo and credits, The Junker cruised right up to Java, docked, and sold the niobium! Apparently, my calls of distress to Java went unheeded. I docked a short while after, and proceeded to file this report. I call for the refusal of all landing privileges to Junkers until we have resolved this matter. I myself plan on posting a bounty, and should any of you wish to contribute, contact me.

Wilson out.

Mr Wilson,

I apologise for my lack of a quick response, but I would like you to know that I have dispatched explorers to search for this vessel, and when we find it, we will make them pay for what they did.

Do you have any gun camera shots of this event? They would be useful.

Thanks,

Syana

RE: Hostiles

I'm sorry about the late reply Wilson - I have had a lot of things to attend to recently - but this is very concerning indeed.. I wish I had come across your report sooner on my desk..

I have notified the defense division and other directors to look out for this so called "junker". His actions make him nothing less than a pirate which makes him marked for destruction in my books.

Hargreaves out.
