...decrypting streaming contents... To the mercenaries calling themselves the Forlorn Hope,
this is Adrian Thrax, a wealthy entrepreneur, contacting you on behalf of the people whose interests I represent. The group I represent have come across a very rare and promising opportunity which might end up becoming quite valuable for us and the rest of the inhabitants of Sirius sector, naturally including yourselves. Though, because of the nature of this opportunity, the outcome could vary greatly between completely useless and beneficial enough to trigger a new golden era for the whole of our civilization, or maybe could even cause the destruction of it. Since this outcome is quite susceptible to barely accountable variables, influences of other interests which might be quite contradictory to our own, yours, and the rest of humanity, the group I represent have deemed it absolutely necessary to safeguard this opportunity with utter diligence, so that it might have a chance to blossom and result to an acceptable outcome, through gradual and controlled elimination of negative influences and empowering and enhancing those which might be good for us. Seeing that you have been quite successful lately, and though you are not always very stable according to what we hear, we have decided that it is proper for you to be employed in this effort along with many other beneficial organizations. For the time being, we will not give you further information on this subject, but we will submit our requests of you for your consideration, and offer you a deal which might evolve further in the future and which will provide you a continuous income. If you are interested in hearing more, reply. Adrian Thrax END OF TRANSMISSION

Dear Mr. Thrax, may you give me a few seconds to introduce myself. My name is Elena Voigt, and as I'm speaking to you, I'm representing the Forlorn Hope, an organization its purpose I obviously don't have to explain to you, as you seem quite well informed about who we are. Hence I will desist from telling you in every single detail who we are and what we do, and instead come right down to business. The things you told us, namely the chance to bring a so called "new golden era" to Sirius, an opportunity we don't want to let pass without getting involved for sure. Not only for marketing purposes, but also because we deeply believe Sirius could and should be a better world one day. We've been also indeed quite succesful lately, however, as you already seem to know too, we had to fight with some losses in a matter of a few days, putting us under a lot of pressure. However, we're still going good, and ready to do the jobs we are able to grab. Hence, I hereby state that the Forlorn Hope is indeed interested in working together with your organization if your words hold at least some truth. However, as soon as you'll need our help to safeguard whatever needs to be saved, we demand information. About what we are guarding, and whom we will have to confront. Addtionally, we'd highly dislike only being informed under a need-to-know-basis. We are eagerly awaiting your opinion on this. Yours sincerely, Elena Voigt, Knight Captain The Forlorn Hope |▫|▫|▫|▫| Terminating Transmission |▫|▫|▫|▫|

...decrypting streaming contents... To the mercenaries calling themselves the Forlorn Hope,
we are glad that you are intrigued and willing to listen more about what we have to say. I'll let you hear what I wish of you first before I respond to some of your concerns. Though we are sure that your group will prove to be a good investment eventually, currently you are lacking in capability to be of much use to the opportunity I told you about. We'd like to tackle that problem before further evolving our deal. The first of our requests of you is to recruit, maintain and train three hundred men and women, specializing in ground combat, assault and security operations. Please select among the professional and experienced sort, as we need the best of the best. You're tasked to gather these soldiers, raise their combat abilities and achieve a high degree of cohesion within their unit, and to keep them in top shape and high discipline until it's time for them to be deployed in order to be of use to our cause. Assign one of your Knights or Captains to regularly drill them and make sure he or she proves himself or herself to them to be a capable commander, and inspire loyalty among them, as this is our top priority. We certainly do not want them to be easily influenced by competing interests. In order to achieve that, you're allowed and even encouraged to use these soldiers in other operations of yours, which would increase their capabilities further and test their mettle and usefulness in high crisis scenarios. A few losses among their numbers is acceptable in order to achieve a higher quality outcome. And meanwhile, please train your pilots and yourselves and be on the lookout for more of them, especially for the clever and capable prospects. We have found out that your piloting as well will need some effort to improve, and competent pilots may end up becoming a crucial importance in the end. We ask of you to convert the costs of this deal to you to Sirian Credits, and provide us with your own terms so we can further adjust this if there's a need for it. Our deal will evolve in the future, and the costs may rise, as it might become necessary that we will have to increase the number of soldiers in your employ. If you end up unhappy with our deal in the future, or refuse to agree to an evolution of our deal which will be necessary as soon as we deem the time is right, you're allowed to end the deal with no repercussions. However, if there would be an information leak at any point in time, I have to inform you beforehand that we will have to resort to a certain amount of violence to make sure such breach of safety of many lives does not go unpunished. As for your requests for further information, we'll have to meet somewhere secure for that after the deal has been concluded and after you give me an oath to be discreet, because discussions over neural net are not the most secure neither proper when it comes to revealing most crucial information which could endanger the whole of our operation. It's not that we lack trust for you or the security of your communication channels, but we simply can not take that chance as of yet, and you have been told the reason already. The lives of countless people, and the preservation of our civilization rest in the hands of your men and women. We only hope that you're brave enough to take that responsibility. Mr. Thrax,
First I'd like to reassure you that I am not replacing Elena in this communication, merely responding to indicate that not only will we take the job, but to inform you that due to my life as a marine in the past, I will be directly responsible for training and supplying the men you need. As it stands, the Forlorn Hope has a small standing force of marines and combat droids, and I've already put the call out for new recruits to be found. In addition, I have a few ground assault toys carefully hidden away that, I believe, you will find more than useful in any ground based operations. Furthermore, we are always on the look out for capable pilots and I believe Elena will be the captain responsible for maintaining that wing of the operations. As to terms, we have only a few, the first and foremost being that the same conditions you would apply to us in terms of information and security, will be observed by your own people, as during the duration of our relationship, you will likely become aware of information we would rather not share with the galaxy at large. Secondly, we would like to impose a shared technology pact. We are always on the look out for more advanced tech than we currently have, and would appreciate any technology that you can share with us. Likewise, any technology we have access to, barring the Crayterian ships we use, would be available to be shared with you and those you represent. Finally, on the matter of credits, I believe it will be foolish to attempt to gauge the costs, profits and such from an operation of the scale I imagine this to be, if you need 300 trained marines before things escalate. Instead I would propose a different arrangement, we'll ask a minor fee to fund the initial steps of this endeavor, and then work on a requisition based system. This way we will be able to flexibly and accurately adjust the required funds, based on variables not yet known to us. Of course, despite the fact that I have already started the recruitment process for the marines, we will still need to meet to fully finalize this arrangement, and discuss further terms in more secure ways than the neural net. As good as our encryption is, I would hate for anything to be intercepted, especially with the stakes as high as you have mentioned. ...decrypting streaming contents... Dear Ms. Elena Voigt and Mr. Nick Stenn,
I am glad that you are already working on building the unit I requested. I am happy that you are as eager we are about our possible partnership, and I am sure Mr. Stenn will prove to be a successful commander for our force. However, I was expecting you to give me a price by now. I thought I could ease your burden further and pay you both for the costs of creating such a unit, and afterwards the maintenance of it, as it is expensive to have a standing army made up of professionals especially for a mercenary group with no stable income, no matter the size of the unit. But we can do it the way you wish as well, just suggest me the price and the manner you wish our deal to be. As long as we have our unit ready once we need them, we do not mind. As for the matter of technology sharing, this kind of an arrangement needs to wait for the time being. We can not think of a technology we might be in need of from your group, neither do we deal in things like ships and weaponry, which you might find interesting. Since if I had the weapons and vessels, I would not need to make a deal with you and I would arm my own marines and pilots. On the other hand, I plan to include other organizations in this opportunity soon enough, and I can put in a good word for you and buy from them the tech you need for your own use in a future evolution of our deal. Or you might do this yourselves, with the opportunity to make new alliances provided to you as we struggle for a common project. Eagerly awaiting your response. Adrian Thrax END OF TRANSMISSION

Dear Mr. Thrax, Please excuse that Mr. Stenn and I are probably going to swap in this channel from time to time, simply because our fields of expertise are pretty different as he already stated. He will take care of our marines, which I'm sure he'll do a great job with, and I on my part am going to bring our pilots back into shape. New recruits and a lot of training will be necessary to reach the standards you seem to have raised, however I can reassure you we will be succesful in doing this. As with the costs we have to pay to build up our army from scratch, I don't have exact details, but as it seems, it's indeed quite costy to find fitting men and women and supplying them with rations. You can expect Mr. Stenn to give you an exact number of what amount of money we could use to build it up, since I'm not the responsible person for this. We are indeed always looking for new contacts to other organizations, preferably positive and friendly ones. Hence, your job offer seems to be a great opportunity for us to achieve exactly this - new relationships and possibly new strong alliances, benefitting all of us. However, as soon as other organizations decide to join into this adventure, we'd like to get informed about this, to be able to perform immediate diplomatic actions towards said groups As with the meeting you had already suggested and that Mr. Stenn had insisted on, I aswell would like to make it happen as soon as possible, to get into greater detail about the deal without the danger of this channel getting hacked. Just name a place, date and time, and we'll try to be there. Yours sincerely, Elena Voigt, Knight Captain The Forlorn Hope |▫|▫|▫|▫| Terminating Transmission |▫|▫|▫|▫|
