--CONTRE-AMIRAL EVERETT FONTAINE, OERLIKON STELLAR OBSERVATORY, ZURICH--

*The screen flashes with Fontaine's comm-sig momentarily, then reveals the man himself.

Bonjour.

This is contre-amirl et Chambellan Fontaine reporting in again. Today was filled with progress -- meaningful progress and a steady reversal of enemy forces. Some Crayterian rabble attempted to disrupt the forces of the Occupation Authority in orbit of Planet Leeds. The Marine Royale's better units -- Force Majeure, Mont-saint-Michel, Ressentiment and the reserve dreadnought Gaulgall were confronted by a disorganized bomber squadron. We also had a repair ship on standby, but the clever foes managed to eliminate it relatively early into the skirmish. When it came to the main course, the enemy forces put on an effort of trying to land torpedoes against us. While the Ressentiment was damaged by their torpedoes it remained fully functional and was able to screen off most of the attempted enemy harassment. We retaliated with distinction, slapping away the Bretonian bomber involved with a well-placed trebuchet shot. The enemy attempted psychological warfare tactics against us, but they were UTTERLY DEFEATED by SUPERIOR Gallic taunting postures and phrasing. Even their deployment of a civilian freelance jester was insufficient to aid them in this category, and he was peppered into the local dust clouds by Michel's secondary defense battery. The Crayterians themselves were a bit more stubborn, and did not meet their end in this engagement like the others -- nonetheless, they fled like dogs once they realized the futility of standing against the champions of the Roi.

After the combat concluded, I took the Felin Majestique on an expedition through more civilized space. The continued encroachment of the Conseillard swine concerns me, but the change in orbital scenery was rather engaging. It's no wonder EFL's established this quaint little outpost out here in Zurich. Hopefully it all works out to some degree of benefit.

Bonjour,

Amiral Fontaine has given you the broad strokes of what transpired in Leeds, to put it in a more plain speech. A small fleet of our capital ships were moving to prepare for the New London siege and was harried by a force of Crayter, Bretonian, and unaligned snubcraft. Since the Amiral has gone in to detail here is the simple after action report.

Forces de la Marine Royale Gauloise
MRG|RNS-Force-Majeure: No Damage
MRG|RNS-Mont.St.Michel: No Damage
MRG|RNS-Ressentiment: Light Damage
Parfumeur: Disabled

Forces de la Bretonnien et Crayter
=CR=C.Chandler|56th: Escaped
=CR=Zulu: Escaped
BAF|Cdr: Pria.Y'berg: Disabled
[WSC]-Lt.Evis.Williams: Disabled

As for your orders, we have now committed a great portion of our fleet to the final assault of New London, their shipyard has been taken. Though it displeases me to say that the Bretonniens have managed to scuttle it. Nevertheless Southampton's remains are the staging grounds for our fleet. Those that were assigned to Bethany Battlegroup are being reassigned and are to move to New London post-haste. That is all for now.

Bonjour,

Many things happened today. After our major advances in New London, the Bretonians tried to regroup their forces and to counter-attack on our tête de pont of Southampton. Both sides suffered loss, but once again we still have the advantage. I took the command de la Rochelle and our forces assembled at the rendez-vous point of Southampton wreck. The last battle was.....pretty weird. Bretonians attacked with two battleships and with the help of the Crayterians and from a Maltesse Ranseur. Fortunately, our grandes forces were able to destroy them completely. We have few ships damaged, but they will be operational soon for the final battle.

Bonjour,

Hier with our new friend Marcus Boone and a Freelancer, we managed to make a raid near New London Planet. Shamefully we haven't found any soldier of the Queen there but only few civilians ready to defend the area until the end. With my fighter and the rest of our forces, we have engaged them. Marcus destoyed two of them but his ship exploded during the impact. We had the advantage until many others ships joined the battle, and as I had radio issue, I couldn't obtained reinforcements. My ship has been destroyed but at least, I am safe and ready for the action! Nothing can stop the glorious forces of the Roi!

Bonjour,

Once again, our forces managed to reinforce the siege around New London Planet. This sector is full of many ships and especially civilians who decided to fight for their House. With the Chambellan Everett Fontaine, le Bateau Ivre and my fighter we launched an attack in order to maintain the pression on the Bretonian forces. However, the first battle was a stalemate and our forces have been forces to retreat due to the large number of Bretonians ships. We decided after some repairs to counterattack. With my fighter, la Rochelle and Grasse, we pushed back the Bretonians to the planet. They tried to destroy our forces with again many ships. That was a mistake and our vessels have been able to destroy the half of them.

Also, today I made a short patrol and discovered an hostile base near the Dublin Jump gate in New London. The base -named Utopia station- has a weapons platform and were firing on my ship. We need to know what is this base exactly.

Vive le Roi!

Bonjour,

Aujourd'hui, I met again those arrogant civilians and tried to claimed me as a bounty. Bad for him! His lack of skill cost him his ship! In a secret operation, the new ship RNS-Minerve and our escort forces attempted to make a blockade of the Cambridge Gate. The plan worked but the Allied forces damaged the Minerve and some of our fighters.

Shortly after, the Minerve came back but the Allied forces waited us and the battleships has been seriously damaged and disabled. Our fighters managed to destroy the rest of the enemy fighters and the damaged capital vessels have retreated. This day ends on a status quo.

Vive le Roi!

Bonjour,

Earlier today I got a comm from Amiral Fontaine about a Crayterian Cruiser near Stokes in Leeds. I immediately scrambled to my Cougar and headed over. The cruiser was carrying officers of the Marine in its hold, no doubt attempting to bring them to Crayterian space and do god knows what. And much like typical Crayterians it fled once encountering someone who could fight back. Whilst it lead me and Fontaine on a merry chase into the Newcastle system it was overwhelmed by our withering torpedo volleys and summarily taken out. Perhaps they will think twice before trespassing on Gallic space and hauling off our soldiers.

As we dropped the men off at Issoudon, Fontain informed me he must return to New Paris, something about a tournament over the planet. A shame, hes a great leader and his presence on the front line will be missed, part of me wishes I can participate in the tournament too but my place ultimately is here is on the front lines, dealing as much damage as I can to the sirian dogs.

Ahem, sorry, I apologize for that sidetrack, this isn't the place for such things. Nevertheless heres the flight camera recordings and the formal report

Bonjour,

The Chanzy is officially back in service after a period of repair and refit at the Issoudun yards in Languedoc. We have received software and hardware upgrades to our Javeline SSM launcher, a replacement Trébuchet mount to improve slewing time, and minor calibrations and zeroing for our other weapon systems. Additionally, we took on new crew and stores and conducted necessary trainings.

I am happy to report that we have been busy since our return to the front. With our offensives in California and New London gaining significant ground, my ship and crew have contributed far beyond their share. In California we participated in a small squadron-sized engagement against two Liberty battlecruisers, the Mount Hood and Utah. We claimed the latter for ourselves and have added it to our kill wall.

Upon our return to the tripartite staging position at Southampton Shipyard, we were dispatched to Leeds in order to guard our flank pending an upcoming engagement in New London. We encountered and destroyed the Colonial Republic cruiser Dauntless with ease, bringing our kill count to two capital ships within a week of our return to frontal naval operations.

After destroying the enemy cruiser, we reinforced the Marine's push against the New London defensive perimeter. All praise goes to the helm and damage control teams for keeping Chanzy intact during this battle. We were engaged at one point by two battlecruisers and a Dunkirk-class battleship. However, we were undeterred and continued to provide supporting fire.

An enemy bomber made the fatal mistake of assuming a damaged Chanzy to be an easy target and made a close bombing run while our shields were down. At the apex of the bomber's approach we recharged the aft shields with our on-board batteries, causing the enemy's munitions to deflect and detonate in his face. In this fashion, we claimed our third kill.

At this point our combined fire had driven off or destroyed all enemy capital ships. Upon our return to Le Cendre, a lone Bretonian battleship was spotted on our search scanners attempting to run the cordon. We believe this captain was attempting a suicide run against the Beauvray, but we will never know for sure. My own vessel and Le Bagarreur under Commandante Nicholas D'Schwartz made short work of the enemy vessel Vanguard, which went the way of the York. I wonder how many capital ships the enemy has left to whittle away against our line.

The performance of our fleet against substantial odds was second to none as always. I place high credit on my crew and fellow captains. In particular I would like to pass up my formal suggestion for Commandante D'Schwartz to receive official commendation for his conduct and leadership under fire. Without the skillful contribution of Monsieur D'Schwartz, much of our fleet - this vessel included - might have been otherwise lost.

Enclosed are my personnel reports. I will notify the families by Poste Royale personally in the next few days. I have enclosed twenty-eight recommendations of official award for personnel under my command. All salvaged material has been transferred to fleet logistics.

Marine Royale Gauloise Mission Report

l'introduction

This document is visible to all enlisted officers of the Marine Royale Gauloise, hereby I, Louis Clement state, that I have conducted service in the ranks of the MRG on the 5th of août 741 A.G.S. Honneur et Patrie, Valeur et Discipline. Pour le Roi.

Déclaration de soldat: Louis Clement

Rang: Lieutenant de Vaisseau

Topic: California battle

Description de la/des situation/-s

Situation:

The Grasse, the Chanzy and myself went to Liberty to evaluate the situation in Liberty. Soon after our arrival in California, we took position on Riverside Station. After a couple minutes of waiting, we encountered a ship with the name of H|-SNS-Harmony.
It didn't take much longer until the Liberty Navy noticed our presence in California, most likely by a scout which came from Los Angeles and went to New York. However, they needed very long to gather an force equal to our. I assume they sent so many ships to Bretonia, that they now have some trouble defending their borders. The battle didn't go entirely in our favor. The Chanzy unfortunately got shot down by the combined force of two Liberty Battlecruisers and one Overlord Dreadnought. But we were able to slow down the battle a bit, which gave us some much needed time. While I was chsaing their bomber, LN-Lambda(5), it got caught in a energy burst by the Grasse, which took it out quickly.
Fortunately, the Harmony got a battlecruiser as reinforcement, which was a great help in the fight against the Liberty Battlecruisers. The fight then quickly came to an end. First the South.Dakota burnt down, the Florida followed shortly after. Sadly, the LNS-Avoca was able to deal severe damage to Grasse, before it was taken out by the Harmony and myself.
This was a really close battle, ways closer than I'd have wanted it to be. While the Libertonians are weakened within their own borders, they still can cause much trouble, so we should not underestimate them.
The Harmony and its supporters can be a valuable ally when fighting the Liberty Navy, I'd advise to keep up our good relationship with them.
I will leave the battle information below.

Enemy ships:
LNS-Florida (destroyed)
[LN]-LNS-South.Dakota (destroyed)
LNS-Avoca(destroyed)
LN-Lambda(5) (destroyed)

Allied ships:
MRG|RNS-Grasse (destroyed)
MRG|RNS-Chanzy (destroyed)
MRG|Louis.Clement (alive)
H|-SNS-Harmony (alive)
SSRT-EU|-The.Ghost (alive)

I will leave some guncam shots below. Unfortunately, I failed to get a kill-confirm on LN-Lambda(5).
guncam shots

Signed,
Louis Clement

Mes respects Amiral,

As you asked me personally, I have started the negociations with the Battlegroup Harmony. Their possessions of unknown weapons made me think they could help us for the new project of experimental weapons.

Harmony seem to want to cooperate. It is the opportunity for the Crown to have a powerful allie within Liberty. But at first, we need to determine if they have indeed, the weapons to what we are looking for. In return they desire armaments, some supplies, and some Gallic ships. Even if it is still hard to trust some Libertonians, Harmony has respected its engagement until now. Futhermore, the efficiency of Harmony within Liberty could significantly increase if we equip them with the Gallic superiority. Thus, Liberty Navy would be so weakned in the house that Liberty will be forced to bring back their ships of Bretonia. It would be only advantage for us.

I am waiting your inestimable answer, Amiral.

Vive le Roi!
