After our victory of yesterday, we increased the patrol in Tau-23 and Tau-31 in order to find out any criminals. Monsieur Coste from les Révélateurs found an Outcast transport with Cardamine. According to him, this one was making his way to Liberty through Newcastle. We imediately destroyed the transport and the Cardamine.

Moreover, the transport called reinforcements before we destroyed it. We found Outcasts fighters shooting at each other. Now they are so lost that they shoot themselves. The three fighters get eliminated. Though an Outcast fleet came in order to push us back. We suffered some losses on our side but the Outcasts retreated.

I am sure you are already aware about the sad events in Cortez. The Bretonians and Libertonians launched a surprise attack against the Betheny Battlegroup. The fleet is actually suffering the offensive of three enemy battlegroups. The Betheny is actually forming a 'bulge' into the front and the Libertonian battleship Alma is currently blocking any attempts of retreats.

I am actually supporting the Betheny and its fleet, though the chances of a victory are very low. I ordered to the Betheny a "fanatical resistance and that the Roi is expecting them a total bravery and loyalty to the Gallic values". Some reinforcements joined the battle, but seeing the dramatic situation, I am about to close imediately the retreat route leading to Magellan. The resistance of the Betheny will give us time to regroup and prepare the retreat from California.

According to the best estimates, the Betheny could resist without supplies again 4 or 5 days. This should give us some time.

Bonjour,

Since one week, the Betheny battlegroup is suffering a great pression due to the enemy offensive. Given we stopped the supply of the Betheny, the stock of fuel and vital commodities are pretty low. We are going to try a last time to break the enemy lines and reach the Barrier Nebula in Magellan. The chances of success are low aswell but that is the last hope for the Betheny.

The smaller vessels may reach Magellan without too muc difficulties. The Betheny already lost 80% of its fighters and bombers cohort. Today will decide the fate of our forces in Cortez.

Good day, old chaps!

Today, at about 1900, I responded to a sighting of "resistance" and Maltese forces in Leeds. When I arrived in orbit of Leeds, I linked up with MRG|Croisade and the Custodi gunboat CNS Perseus. The expected enemy force quickly left the system or went to ground. We were then contacted by an allied force under fire in New London, so we moved to assist. When we arrived in New London, we found our forces under attack by a sizable enemy force consisting of BAF and Maquis forces, aided by a single Crayterian carrier. Before I was forced to withdraw due to heavy damage, we destroyed the majority of the enemy force, including all their capital-class vessels and a number of fighters and bombers. The victory was not without cost, however, as the battleship Tourmaline and the battlecruiser Sajuuk fell to enemy fire.

Bonjour,

I have the difficult task to announce the destruction of Betheny Battlegroup by the combined forces of Liberty and Bretonia. The last forces that went in Cortez to help the Betheny finally retreated in Magellan.

Nonetheless, the Betheny deserves all our respect and went into the death with honor. The Battlegroup sent several communications just before its destruction saying that the Yukon battlegroup suffered heavy losses. The recons missions this morning in Cortez confirmed the messages: the Yukon has been removed from Cortez. Though, we don't know its exact situation, if it is destroyed or not.

The Betheny managed to bring with himself a whole Libertonian Battlegroup in the unknown world of death.

The Carcassonne in California is still holding its positions and it appears California is pretty weakened. Meanwhile, an attack from the Allies in Magellan is probable. This could be a threat for the Carcassonne's Battlegroup, which is far more important in strenght than the Betheny ones.

I am going to organize and reinforce the Guillestre cohort stationned in Leeds. We might need it soon enough.

Vive le Roi!

Bonjour,

Two days ago, we attempted with a combined force of the Marine and the Secondary fleet to break the defensive lines around New London Planet and quickly retreat after that.

We found Libertonians and Bretonians vessels around the planet and we engaged them. During the engagement we had the surprise to have the Brotherhood coming and 'assisting' us against the Bretonians and Libertonians. I'd say they rather prefered to shoot the enemy because they were there and really helping but still.

We have been quickly outnumbered in major assets, the RNS-Tourmaline falling the enemy warships. Though, while the Corsairs managed to take down the enemy fighters, while our bombers were focusing on the captial ships. We destroyed them all, as the enemy squadrons, not without few Corsairs lost.

Certainly, we couldn't have the victory without this unexpected help.

Bonsoir.

Alongside Lieutenant Roux, I participated in a patrol flight against the Maltese in Tau-37, as they attempted a raid near the IMG's Falkland. Our patrol flight was mostly made of the miners, and while I do not mean to disparage their flight quality, it appears our flight was quite outmatched to the Maltese. Most of our vessels were destroyed outright, while la Marine claimed a single kill on the enemy in return. All in all, a poor display, at least by my own hand. I hope to re-double my efforts and deliver a more final blow to these scum in the future.

That will be all for now. Sincèrement,

Bonjour,

Yesterday evening we assembled a strong force in Leeds with the task to make a blockade in California and disturb the supply lines of the Libertonians. Before our departure we had the surprise to read on our scanners a lone Kusarian fighter coming our way near the planet.

The vessel in question identified himself and it appeared he had pacific intentions. He couldnt explain really the matter of his reason here but he let us know a certain organization -apparently the intelligence service of Kusari- would contact us soon. This Kempeitai would like to improve the relations between Gallia and Kusari.

Afterwards, we moved towards California. There we destroyed several transports but we couldn't meet the main enemy forces for unknown reason. At the end we retreated to Leeds without suffering losses.

Bonjour,

The 30th June was a very tedious day. All the day our long range scanner detected large movements of enemy forces. First in Tau-23, where a Crayter carrier and a bomber tried to attack the Chreronsee outpost. Deployed previously within the area, the RNS-Ressentiment with the help of the Capitaine Jules Baudelaire engaged the enemies. Despite having suffered damage, the Ressentiment managed to destroy the Crayter carrier and le Capitaine Baudelaire destroyed the bomber very easily.

I returned later in New London on Le Cendre. Nonetheless, patrols reported that a combined Bretonian and Crayterian fleet was moving towards Leeds. I left le Cendre with my fighter and found a bomber near Southampton. This one cut several lanes in order to delay me. I reached Leeds and found near the gate a Dunkirk escorted with several bombers and fighters. While I called reinforcements, I decided to take all of them myself. Apparently, according to a SIS pilot, I am a 'priority target'. I had the opportunity to demonstrate them I am more than a priority target.

A Bretonian fighter engaged me. I destroyed him. Then a Crayter vessel joined the party. I destroyed him. Our reinforcements were about to come. The RNS-Asheling managed to occupy the other fighters while I could repair mine. A whole fleet of Battlecruisers moved towards the New London Jump gate. The RNS-Asheling get eliminated. The Dunkirk with all that firepower has been sunk. A Bretonian battlecruiser came, but quickly destroyed aswell. The remaining fighters suffered the firestorm from our capital vessels. I took down the last enemy fighter myself.

I'd like to highlight that the number of capital vessels that joined the battle was too much important. We took the risk to left without defense other areas in Leeds. Futhermore, it is not in our gentleman way to storm ships like that. Our assets will be informed about that exaggerated response.

Vive le Roi!

Sujet: New Command

Good day, old chaps!

As per orders, today I have assumed command of the Perilous-class gunboat RNS Acheron. The Acheron spent the better part of the last decade in the Council's service and was recently recaptured by our forces. She is one of the older ships in the fleet but after her recent refits at Issoudun, she's more than ready to bring the fight to our enemies.

My engineering team is reporting a few quirks due to the age of the ship and her service history, but nothing they can't work around. The main issue is that the yard crew left the Council's engine in place, but it works within Navy standards and there's no point replacing a serviceable engine when those parts could be better used elsewhere. It'll be a bit more of a challenge to maintain than the standard Navy design, but my crew assures me it's nothing they can't handle.

There's also been an issue with the main computer. My engineering team has done a complete reset on all systems, and purged all the Council code they could find, but the software has a habit of occasionally putting Council insignias and colours in place of our own, including (as you can see) on report templates. My security chief reports that she's absolutely certain that our systems are secure and no data is being sent anywhere it shouldn't, but we're finding the issue fairly annoying. We're going to have the crew at Issoudun take another look at it next time we put in for servicing.

One last thing before I sign off. I thank the Navy for the trust it has placed in me by granting me a promotion and this command. Given my origins, it would be easy to mistrust me and keep me at arms length, but you haven't done that. I've been made to feel very much at home, and that means a great deal to me. I will continue to serve honourably and will do my best to repay, with interest, the trust placed in me.
