Greetings Miss Taylors,

I honestly have to say I didn't expect to receive this transmission. For multiple reasons if I may say so. But that's not the topic of my answer. I'll just get to the topic, the evidence. It is interesting to see a previously prepared package that is not addressed to a single person. It seems like you are going to publish this package as a next step against Navy and trying to gain strength for the the Battlegroup.

Anyways, about this package. There are some interesting things in as well as some vague things. It is interesting that the Navy refused to give the Harmony into the custody of the LSF and in fact attacked them. Therefore I believe there's more evidence that what you prepared there. The Harmony must have had seen something interesting and potentially dangerous to the higher ups in the Navy. Well, why am I even asking for that information, there's no way you're gonna give a hint, am I right? Telling all the secrets to a Commander of the First fleet. But let's just put that aside for a moment and talk about the second part of the packet. The destruction of the Discovery.

Yes, I know the discovery was damaged and you had help from the Hackers and Unioners. A small strike force, a hand full of pilots managed to take out the Discovery. I'd hate to say that I followed orders that day without knowing what our enemy had done to get them hunted by the Navy. A dumb idea to follow the orders blindly, a dumb idea I had as an ensign. Let me tell you that I'm sorry for your losses that day, no one should be close to safety but not reach it due to former colleagues and friends. I am curious though, were you able to save the personnel that day or did the navy succeed and weaken your numbers and firepower?

Now for the last bit, the Nomad that helped the Navy. I wasn't present that day, and I'm lucky I wasn't. It really is strange that the Harmony got lured, or well, pushed in that case, towards the Nomad, seemingly ignoring the Navy ships. Though what bugs me is that the evidence cuts at some point. I suppose there were some more of your pilots around that were able to stay longer on point to look at the interaction between the Navy and the Nomads. Is there more you can tell me about that? Maybe even show me some visuals or blackbox recordings?

I have to admit, this package is interesting, even though it is vague. And even if we might be enemies, there's one thing we have in common. We only want to protect Liberty. One more thing, thank you for sending me this material. Safe skies to your pilots.

Mayer out.

Commander John Mayer

Good Evening.

I'm certain you understand why I cannot give out confidential information regarding the Personnel numbers of the Battlegroup, or Harmony's Battlefield Capabilities. I'm afraid we simply cannot afford the Luxury of that kind of blind trust, especially considering that this transmission is most likely an attempt to gain insight into the workings and numbers of the Battlegroup.

As per OPSEC Regulations, the only public statement I am able to give you, is that Battlegroup Harmony maintains operational strength necessary to continue it's struggle.

Until such a time as your credibility can be established, things will remain that way. Let me cut to the point, Commander, what exactly is it that you're looking to find out? And if you find it, what do you intend to do?

Greetings Miss Taylors,

I already expected to not get any further details. I do also understand your reasons. Trust is not something you should casually show towards the people who outlawed you. I also understand your distrust towards me, after all I’m a Captain of the first fleet. However, I do want to mention that this transmission is nothing I want to forward to someone, since I risk my head talking to you without the higher ups knowing, hence the reason why I won't forward anything.

As for my intentions, one thing is clear, if the higher ups are really infected, I am willing to fight against them. I do however understand that you want to validate these claims but let me ask you one thing, does the Battlegroup turn down a helping hand if they might get on? I am not the person who mindlessly follows orders, I think about them and also though about Harmony. I don't see you as an enemy, rather as an organization that got thrown out for their "different" mindset.

You might see an enemy in me and I don't judge you, as long as you don't open fire on my vessel. I don't know how I can prove my good will without risking my head even more. I'm at a limit here, it all depends on you, whether you want to gain an "ally" or someone that follows his orders against your ships. If there's anything you have in mind how I can prove myself without risking my head and position, I'm willing to listen. For now, consider me not an enemy of the Battlegroup, I will not open fire on your ships as long as you don't threaten me or my colleagues until you have decided.

The choice is yours, tell me to leave it be or tell me how I can show you that I'm not trying to harm you. I don't have anything to lose here, I'm fine with both options.
For now, safe skies, I'll wait for your reply.

Mayer out.

Good Evening.

I've brought your message to Command, and they've permitted me to draft this reply.

We have no way of guaranteeing your loyalties, or your intentions. And Trust is in short supply nowadays. However, Command has devised a certain trial, to see just how far your good intentions go.

In order for us to extend to you some manner of trust, we'll require a certain amount of 'dirt' on you, to prevent you from simply absconding with any information you see fit, betraying Harmony.

Command has laid out a plan that would prove your intentions of helping the Battlegroup, while also making sure we have enough of a safe deposit to trust working with you.

In order to provide this, you must: 1, Avoid engaging members of the Battlegroup in all areas of Liberty. 2, Upload the attached file to your ship's central computer Network, and any Networks you have access to. 3, Immediately and without hesitation further all information you come across in regards to the Liberty Navy's Intelligence on Battlegroup Harmony, as well as on the Lane Hackers and Unioners.

Do this, and we'll have grounds to trust you.

Greetings Miss Taylors,

First of all i’m sorry for my delayed answer. I needed some time to think about your tasks and I came to a conclusion. Since I already said, that I wont’t endanger my position as a Captain, two out of those three tasks are not acceptable. I don’t know if you thought that I just copy a virus or monitoring program on any terminal I got access. If I’d do it, what would you've gained out of it? Deletion of certain files or data? Rerouting information to a dead-drop? No, I wont infest the navy’s network for you, not for anyone. How am I supposed to know if I do the right thing? How can I know that I can trust you?

Neither am I willing to share confidential information without any hesitation to people who only gave me vague informations about the topic I asked to know about. You keep your knowledge a secret but I am supposed to play with open cards? I hope you do realize that I will be branded as a traitor and will be locked away for an eternity. I’m not throwing my life away that quickly.

On the other hand, the first „task“ is easily accomplished and I already told you that I won’t shoot any of your vessels in the first place. I am open for another trial, one that is not endangering my position as much as this one and preferably with some more informations about the infected leaders, since I'm not keen to act on vague information.

Without those informations, or without another „trial“, I’m forced to follow my orders against you. And that means termination on sight. However, I won’t forward any informations, for my for own sake, so rest assure that there's no spy's work involved. Safe skies.

Mayer out.
