Hi Karin.

Since we have decided to go separate ways yesterday evening - which I still believe wasn't the most clever of ideas we've had so far. Have you never watched any horror movie in your life yet? Because else you should know that splitting up is usually a death sentence! -, I've kept wondering what has happened to you and Mason and all the others that decided to join the party. I would have stayed a little longer as well probably, because as I said, splitting up equals bad, but Kiara urged to leave as soon as possible, and I can't get huffy about it. Besides, you know, the cash, and this Orbital pilot turned out to be good company as well.

Really, the only I actually want to hear is that you lots are safe. Which makes me wonder again, what was that business you yet had to attend to before leaving the Luxury Liner? Yes, I know, you don't have to tell me, I'm too curious. But as a matter of fact, these days I'd like to know about as much as necessary to ensure that everything stays in order and everybody stays safe.

Regarding this incident with the Kusarian Intelligence and the ... Liberty Navy in Sigma-19. This is a whole lot of madness, and doesn't fit. And my brain can't avoid the probability that this all - was a large hoax. I don't know from which party, but I am by now, after brooding over it for a long enough time, absolutely sure these weren't the people they passed themselves off as. In general, I would suggest being careful towards anything that doesn't offer clear sensor data.

I really hope to hear from you soon again. Don't panic in the meantime.

Hello, Elena. I'm glad to hear that you got to Curacao safely. I wanted to leave with you, but I just had to make sure that the Kusarians wouldn't come back at me for what I did. In the worst case, I wanted to know when they would. That's why I contacted Kiyoko about this: she's with the Naval Forces, she's got to know more about what happened and why it all started. We arranged a meeting at the Hawaii, but I didn't know how she'd react upon seeing Forlorn Hope ships. That's why parting ways might've been a good idea in the long run.

Kiyoko came through for me and arrived an hour or two later, with a couple of other Kusarians. However, they had a quarrel with Mason, something about him endangering me by his presence, since the Naval Intelligence were obviously after him. In the end Mason left for Curacao. I think he should be there already by now. We agreed that I'd go there too, but later.

Anyway, it seems like the Kusarians don't have me on their wanted list yet, otherwise Kiyoko would've told me. She advised that I should leave the Sigmas and lay low for a while. We decided on planet Baden Baden, where she and her 'friends' escorted me. I told Kiyoko everything I knew about the whole mess, but she might have questions for Mason and that other freelancer who was at the scene.

For the time being I'll be staying on Baden Baden and will keep a low profile. If you run into Mason, you can tell him where I am, and that I'm safe, but I probably won't be coming to Curacao for about a week or so. I still need to get in touch with Kiyoko and figure out if there's anything else I have to do about this whole mess. If it was a hoax, it might be for the best: at least Kiyoko wouldn't have to bring me in for what I did.

Thanks for replying so quickly, Karin, I didn't reckon with such a prompt answer to be honest. In fact, I was already mentally prepared for having to wait several hours, if not even days. It's relieving to hear you're alright and could leave the Sigmas in one piece. I suggest that you for now don't worry about the occured incident and instead at least try to enjoy your days off on Baden-Baden. From personal experience, I can tell you it's - what else would you have expected? - one of the most beautiful places in civilized House space. You shouldn't let this opportunity to visit some famous sights go past easily, there's more to it than just the oddly-looking beaches with their black sand, for example the various volcanoes that are open for visitors. No extreme dangers, don't worry. And apologies, I already start sounding like a tourist guide again, I'll cut it here.

Nonetheless, I still wanted to address the matter at hand again. Listening to your words, I am not as sure how to interpret Kiyoko's words and advise to "stay low for a while". It clearly suggests that something is indeed wrong about what happened (however that we knew beforehand as well), but considering she seems to be infatuated with her work far too much (than good for her, if I might say so), I dare to state that it probably doesn't have anything to do with her job at the Naval Forces. Has she said anything else of importance, possibly? Or has she played the mysterious "Stay low, I'll fix it - whatever 'it' actually is"-game on you? It wouldn't surprise me to say the least, as she happens to be a somewhat enigmatic figure if you ask me, and she surely isn't telling us the whole deal.

Additionally, I'd ask you to notify me if anything progresses in terms of how the Naval Intelligence managed to gather intel about our organization's actions. I don't mean to put you onto the spot in any way, I know that Kiyoko is a friend of yours as well, but you can believe me when I say that we don't bear malice against the Republicans, which is exactly what worries me, that an absolutely unnecessary conflict arise that could have been prevented. I will consider whether I talk to her personally as well, but for now, as I still believe it was just a well-played hoax by a third party, I don't yet see the need to act.

I assume that, considering the situation of your craft after you got shot down, there are no recordings left, neither of the communications nor of the scrambled sensor data? I've got a suspicion, call it instinct, but to find out more about who or what induced this situation to happen, I'd need to get my hands on those recordings, especially on the sensor data. If you don't have them anymore, maybe Mason does, or do you maybe have the contact details of the other freelancer present who you have mentioned as well?

Literally, if you got anything, send it over. I swear, nobody will just perpetrate a hoax on my men without any form of consequences.

See you soon.

Well, you just caught me at the right time. Thanks for the tips, I'll make sure to use this opportunity to relax. I just hope this time nothing actually goes wrong; so far my 'vacations' have always been... well, what you've seen. But something tells me that Baden Baden won't be a mess like the Hawaii or the Omicrons, so I'll try to enjoy myself.

Now, to more serious topics. Kiyoko didn't tell me much. She had some ideas about what happened (I'll leave it for her to share with you), and according to what she said, I'm probably not in any serious danger. But on the way to Baden Baden she was too busy chatting with Silverstone and arguing with Junko Sanada, that Kusarian freelancer we met in Sigma-19. I still have a few questions for Kiyoko about some things I don't quite understand, so I'll be waiting for another opportunity to talk to her.

That being said, my black box had almost no recordings of the event. So far we've only pieced together some audio recordings from my ship and Mason's ship. I think Mason was working on the guncam footage too, but my ship didn't have any. You could also ask Heidi Wolff, a freelancer I mentioned. She was piloting a Camara freighter called "Druide", and she was attacked for trying to get some scans of the encounter. I think her ship was heavily damaged, but she might have had more luck with the evidence. I'm pretty sure Kiyoko would be interested in the guncams or sensor data as well. Could be a nice way to improve relations with Kusarians, perhaps?

Anyway, I'm attaching whatever recordings I could get so far.
