Heyho!
The last years, it was standard to set POBs to "do not consume anything" during summer main holiday time*. This would come as a relief to those who are going on holidays, for those who are just struggling on the final meters before it's holiday time, and... generally for everybody.
Jack - only semi-around due to massive "pre-holiday workload".
*or was it only for X-mas/New Year? I do not remember, so @Laura C. might be right.

As far as I remember, it used to be disabled only for Christmas (and New Year) holidays, but never for summer holidays (but feel free to correct me with link to some old announcement about it). But I guess main problem could be that last time it caused some issues to POB plugin so I guess it depends a lot on if the problem was fixed.

@Laura C. If I am wrong (might be, my memory is not the best), then I reword my suggestion for: Please also do it for the summer holidays.
The little time people have would be better spent on "not grinding".

Currently the station uses:
2x RA/HS/RH every 20 seconds to repair wear&tear damage. Every used RA/HS/RH repairs 30k damage.
So how about make station use:
1x RA/HS/RH every 20 seconds to repair wear&tear damage. Every used RA/HS/RH repairs 60k damage.
This will effectively decrease the consumption rate by 50%, while not affecting POB repairs while under attack. It will of course decrease the price of upkeep to 50% as well, because you would need only 4320 RA/HS/RH per day.
FOW check interval could be changed too, but it is not that important.
So even Core 1 base with 2 storage modules ( 110k space ) can survive for 3 weeks.
