A guide to [RM] (OoRP) - Kaiserliche Rheinwehr - 08-17-2017

This entire thread explains out of roleplay how [RM] works and should not be taken as roleplay.

Recruitment:

- There are 2 methods to enter [RM]:

1) Through the standard action report + bio method explained in the recruitment thread.
2) Through action reports in a consistent basis and ingame presence with the rest of the Rheinwehr. Examples: [1] [2]. Developing your character ingame is deemed infinitely more valuable than through a 1-time biography by this faction, and therefore, players who enter the faction through this SUBJECTIVE method keep the lowest rank that allows them to continue using the ship they have been roleplaying with, thus having the possibility of ranking up to Kapitän on entry.

Restrictions:

- Player characters are restricted to the ships their rank allows as explained in the Ranking Structure thread. However and upon request, players may freely use tagged ships that they would normally not be able to use, with the condition of representing a "generic" officer of the equivalent rank. This means, no gefreiters flying bismarks. If a gefreiter ranked player wants to use a bismark, and after communicating so to the faction leader or HC, he may make his own tagged ship and use it ingame while roleplaying a different character.

- [RM] members are expected to uphold certain values when playing, these being:

Fairness in gameplay.- Avoid exploits, glitches, bugs and all around poor displays such as leaving combat to refill on bots. This is last example is subject to what the enemy group does- fair means equal. Do not uncloak on top of enemies if they don't do it to you, but if they do, feel free to.
Balance in combat.- Albeit not always possible, keeping fights close always makes them more fun. This means no ganking and if at all possible no overclassing regarding the ship type (not entering a close, well balanced snub fight with a solaris gunboat for example). Losing is fine and has no lasting impact: taking a loss once can lead to more fun encounters later.
Good sportsmanship.- No ragging after loss or lack of fairness and/or balance to the other side (may bent in skype with the rest of the faction).
Roleplay consistency.- Rheinland albeit one of the more powerful nations does not send inhouse patrols with 5 bismarks. Usage of smaller craft is prefered, specially during patrol or otherwise roleplay oriented events, these being specially useful to develop characters further.
Good out of roleplay relations with other official factions.

General functioning:

- [RM] generally works as any other official faction. Amongst the few differences, the faction leader announces upcoming events in the chat title in Skype and continously updates it as the date to said event comes closer in order to have the rest of the faction know.

- Rollcalls are done via Communication Channel in the forums as ordinary transmissions adressed to the Rheinwehr when a new campaign is in the making. Examples: [1] [2]. These are done in the name of inmersion and roleplay consistency regarding where different characters are assigned, attempting to mimic more realistic movements of troops.

- Events range from diplomatic meetings to ordinary fights with hostile factions and NEMPing of bases. In case of the faction leader being inactive, the second in command will temporarily keep the situation stable. The faction leader always announces when he will be unavailable and for how long.

This guide is subject to change and not set in stone, it only represents the inmediate future.
