i would suggest 8 gig minimum these days, depending on how you use your comp, an SSD isnt the most important either, but omg, what a difference it makes, ive recently got myself a 1 tb samsung evo, and i wish i had many many years ago, boot times and usage it just instant

if you do gfx/video editing 8 gig is minimum, (ive now got 16 big help there) , having more ram, decreases file swapping times, and with an ssd theres isnt a need to have file swapping as much because, well, ssd is practically instant and having more ram REALLY helps in system performance

system ram also helps in gfx processing a little

what you have to think about is the motheroard and cpu for the future, im a little outdated these days when it comes to building, as ive not done it in a few years, but you got to make sure that what your going to buy NEW is future proof for at least a few years, theres no point in having a mb and cp that gets bottle necked (handicapped) because its unable to cope with faster plugged in gadgets, because the gadgets will not perform as best as they can

try to make sure that they all "work" together to help each other as best as they can

I can play fallout 4 on max settings with 60 fps using a gtx 1050 ti and a lower-midrange i5 with 8gb of RAM.

Generally speaking the graphics card is a lot more important than the processor and I've had pretty good luck with my gtx so far. Shadowplay is another neat feature that the card has if that interests you at all.

Thanks guys. I'll get back to you closer to this year's black friday. I decided to buy a good videocard and keep my old system. This will be the first step of a complete overhaul.
