Collective work on project R.A.C. - Datamind - 11-07-2017 Online Voice Log of Prof. Izzard
Current Version of R.A.C.: V1.1
Current list of subjects: WO-Matt Edwards RE: Collective work on project R.A.C. - Datamind - 11-07-2017 Log begins 15th July 799 AS location Cambridge Research Institute. So I've found a test subject for my RAC project, he was about to retire but after I told him how RAC would work he agreed to stay enlisted to help my research. Ah but wait I guess I'm getting ahead of myself, Okay okay my RAC project is based on the idea of making pilots safer or at least safer for the side using RAC. Real-time Artificial Combatant that is what RAC stands for basically I plan on using AI systems to help the pilot of a vessel, End of the day RAC could help save lives and that is why my first test subject has agreed to it. So anyway Warrant Officer of BAF secondary fleet Matthew Edwards has decided he will test my RAC in his Paladin class fighter. RAC being placed in a ship requires a fair amount of space and power so the cockpit needs to be ripped out and refitted. Working with some of programs developed by myself and two colleagues, RAC should help path finding and identify composition of hostile craft giving combat advise when applicable. RE: Collective work on project R.A.C. - Datamind - 11-07-2017 Log begins 21st July 799 AS Location Cambridge Research Institute Mr Edwards has been on three patrols since the installation of RAC to his Paladin, Everytime he has contacted me afterwards to complain that RAC is to big and uncomfortable to move around and that it is no better than a Navi computer. "This thing was supposed to make space safer so I didn't have to worry bout my son but so far its garbage Doc." these were the last words that troglodyte said to me, This man is beyond infuriating judging my greatness in its first form. Taking the comments of Mr Edwards I have spoken to two of my colleagues about how a RAC could be more helpful to a pilot. Currently we are hooking RAC up to all sensor and cams on the Paladin rather than just the long range sensor. We are also updating its prediction software, This way RAC should provide more 'useful' information to the pilot. As we are installing these upgrades though I'm noticing the power plant is being pushed to its max, I'll have to look at ways to free up more power while I wait for feedback on this upgrades. RE: Collective work on project R.A.C. - Datamind - 11-07-2017 Log begins 17th December 799 AS location Cambridge Research Institute RAC V1.1 Well so far RAC has been working well, Mr Edwards has even noticed an improvement as his encounters with unpleasant characters have been more successful with RAC providing enemy flight path predictions. Still more changes are to be made if RAC is to become what I want. On that note I may have come into the latest combat simulation software and I'm currently combining it with the battle data Mr Edwards has recorded, All of which shall be added to RAC's combat system to provide more up to date predictions. I believe I have found another test subject. One Corporal Alex Bates of the BAF secondary fleet, He seems to have heard of my research and made contact him me. I'm doing a thorough background check now on him as last thing I need is BAF wanting to steal my research to claim as their own. Also the board of directors here at Cambridge Research Institute called me in to talk about the findings of my research, That new medicine time app I developed got the off my back for the moment. While reviewing all this combat data I've also noticed Mr Edwards reaction time isn't the fastest so I'm going to add the weapons systems to RAC, Not the ability to fire but simply tracking the enemy it can use the prediction software so it should do a rather good job keeping on target. Unfortunately I still haven't solved this power problem and seeing as how RAC needs more power in a larger ship just dropping the Paladin isn't a solution, While I continue working on this issue I'm diverting the power away from the ejection module in the meantime, Not like he will need it with RAC anyway. |
