Kudos Core. - Paddy. - 11-22-2017

Well done Core. To the inbred transvestites that run that faction, and decided to destroy the mining tavern. You failed to consider the benefits and simply looked on it as a bit of a giggle. I applaud you... weak RP, narrow minded outlook. self serving pretentious prats. Just a "Oh look... a corsair thing... lets forget about the bigger picture of bedding in new players, lets destroy it!"

Behind the scenes of what is an RP server is a smallish group of elite who dictate and manipulate in a narrower band of RP. It is a tight incestuous inner circle who mutter among themselves and decide they would rather be NIMBY's and WCTAN's (not-in-my-back-yard) and (We-Can't-Try-Anything_new). They don't want change, they just have it so right and their way is the way it is going to be.

The Corsair's Mining Pub had been there probably two months or more. I wanted a proof of concept how to bed in new players, give them a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose outside of the nursery that is Pennsylvania. I made off the pubs. I personally helped set up quite a number of new and returning players. Even got my Dad to return. The concept proved to be very effective overall, even if I was a bit cheeky with my placements.

I copped a lot of criticism for putting (/pm Paddy [msg] on the Tavern's name. From really negative, staid and long-time members of Discovery. And no-one could understand the absolute success, doing that very small innovation, was in helping people enjoy the game in a much riskier part of Sirius.

I also have to echo Shaggy's comment regarding in-game RP... weak, simply per functionary, RP performed merely as a routine duty. Hasty and superficial so you can get the kill, the giggle.

RE: Kudos Core. - The Big C - 11-22-2017

The Core moves at its own pace, Paddy.

They see something that openly declares itself to be property of their mortal enemy, what is there to say? They're obligated to raze it. Look at it from an in-RP perspective. Sometimes, less really is more.

Remember how they generally treat their enemies.

EDIT: Hell, just read THIS

"I do promise and declare that I will, when opportunity presents, make and wage relentless war, secretly and openly, against all who oppose the Core's destiny, as I am directed to do, to extirpate them from the face of existence; and that I will spare neither age, sex nor condition, and that will hang, burn, waste, boil, flay, strangle, and bury alive these infamous degenerates; rip up the stomachs and wombs of their women, and crush their infants heads against the walls in order to annihilate their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly I will secretly use the poisonous cup, the strangulation cord, the steel of the poniard, or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honour, rank, dignity or authority of the persons, whatever may be their condition in life, either public or private."

These guys are not the good guys.

RE: Kudos Core. - Sombs - 11-22-2017

You're butthurt and now trying to instrumentalise anything you can get to rant about the Core, being mad at them for destroying one of your half a dozen PoBs you carelessly built around Sirius without any approval by the regional law-enforcers, or the means to defend those PoBs. If you want to be untargetable, get a Bustard, make a few screenshots of it and use it on forum for RP, but the moment you place a PoB in the game, especially with some ooRP stuff in the name, it'll get removed rather quickly.

It's really easy to repeat the stuff other people say. You had one bad encounter with the Core, that's bad, but that's not only their fault. Many people will be able to assure you the Core provides a lot of quality roleplay ingame and on forum, while the playerbase of the Core works literally with the very same mechanisms any other faction playerbase works.

RE: Kudos Core. - Implosion - 11-22-2017

I'm sorry to break it to you pal, but if we haven't shot it down, the 'sairs or someone else would. You had all the time to reach us.
Yet, you choose to do so after the base was shot down. I'm sorry, but it's too late now. As for any RP you've seen or not seen, it's generally hard to talk while you're getting shot. Maybe if you and Shaggy start logging ships not hostile to Core, you might get the chance to RP with us.
PS: AS much as I'd like to know the background of every base on this server, I can't. Furthermore, there's more than one way to help new players. You can do it with or without a base. You are using it as a tool to generate cash and there's nothing wrong with that. But you'd have to keep in mind local politics. You say we drop zero RP, yet you made no effort to drop much RP towards us either. I don't know mate, but that's awfully hypocritical from you.
If you so badly want a base, make sure to talk to all the locals that might get involved.

Let's refrain from sarcastic kudoses, please. Instead of a public thread trying to provoke public lynching, please direct it all to the faction's feedback thread instead.
