Quetzalcoatl was related to gods of the wind, of Venus, of the dawn, of merchants and of arts, crafts and knowledge. He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, of learning and knowledge.

Commissioned in 520 A.S. as as the first prototype "Jinkusu"-class Zoner Dreadnaught she was used as a testbed for information gained from studying the Persephone. In 820 A.S. the Quetzalcoatl was selected for modernization into the new Nephilim Class Colony Ship. She has since been deployed to Freeport 9 to assist in the development of the system.

In Drydock - Lividia Shipyard

The Quetzalcoatl has finished her most recent mission to the Delta system assisting in the resupply of Freeport 11. We have swung by Lividia shipyard for a minor refit of the number 3 plasma manifold. Additionally we will be taking on several dozen crew who will be bound for our training center in the Kepler system. While I won’t have the pleasure of personally delivering the new trainees they will have the pleasure of being with us while we cross the sector to Omega 49 in the coming days. We have also been contacted by Director Wright in regards to our potential upgrade of the primary fusion reactors to better improve our hyperspace capabilities. While I am excited at the possibilities offered by such an upgrade I am still weary as frame of the Quetzalcoatl wasn’t designed to spend any time within hyperspace, the technology simply didn’t exist when the frame was designed. While the Director assures me that the math checks out I find that theory and reality can vastly differ.

We’ve started to perform regular jump tests, the old man’s got everyone pulling double watches just to walk about the ship looking for structural stress points, honestly it's gotta be the second worst job on the ship, right after working the waste reclamators. On the plus side our frequent returns to port have enabled me to gather a rather large collection of paints and pastels. Now only if I could get some down time to use them.

The Quetzalcoatl Reentering Normal Space

The Quetzalcoatl has entered the Omega 3 system. For the next 72 hours we will be undergoing a resupply and personnel transfer with Freeport 1. Both Brandon Wright and Sean Goodman are expected to arrive in the morning on the first returning shuttle. While I haven't received official orders I suspect we will be going to the rumored Omega 2 system. While I am excited at the prospect of the Quetzalcoatl being on the literal forefront of science rumors also tell of armed groups already laying claim to the system. I'm unsure how welcome we will be, if at all.

We have found ourselves in Livadia shipyard once again. This time for a Biome Upgrade being handled by Synth Foods. It is expected that these upgrades will lead to a decrease in the tonnage of foodstuffs required for our long duration missions but I still foresee us using more than the expected production capability of a single biome. While I don't necessarily agree with the Department Chair in his decision to have an entire biome dedicated to greenspace, I cannot deny the excitement that is in the air among the research staff and general crew at the thought of a park on our vessel.

We once again find ourselves back in the dry-docks. With the biome upgrade almost complete I have reached out to the director about our potential deployment to the Theta system. I'd like us to have time to run a ship-wide shakedown before we report ready for our next research project. While I don't expect to encounter any issues I'd rather not travel to far from Livadia until we are certain of the Q's reliability.

The endless expanse of space stretches out behind me, and another 10 hours of my shift stretches before me. When I went to flight school you would have thought someone would have mentioned the endless hours of sitting, especially out on the edge.

On the plus side our routes have been fairly regular as of late. With our port of call tied up in the dry docks we have found some decent credits in running iridium to the Pygar staging point. I also took some time to explore some of the newly minted cities, the finished portions at any rate. While it isn't any Gran Carina those caves are certainly a selling point stretching out so far into the sky.

The Quetzalcoatl In Jump Sequence

Shortly before our afternoon shift change the Q entered the hyperspace corridor for the Theta system. This represented our first transition into the void following the biome upgrade lead by Synth Foods. According to the ships records this was her largest structural refit since her superstructure modernization in 820. The jump to theta was otherwise uneventful. We will be orbiting Pygar for the short term while the engineering division completes a full inspection of the Q. Provided that we didn't break anything to expensive we should be cleared for regular duty by Thursday.

The Quetzalcoatl Transiting A Type IV Nebula

Late last night the Q entered the Amarus Cloud. Due to the dense structure of the nebula we've had to suspend our daily freight and passenger flights until the Astrometric Department completes their survey. It is expected that we will have to spend another 17 hours or so within the cloud before we can move into the clear.
