Love Conquers All - Lythrilux - 11-30-2017

Nathan Archos awoke in an H+ clinic med-bay dressed in a hospital gown. He looked at his side and saw various tubes plugged into him, connecting him to an assortment of medical instruments. He couldn't remember what happened after he crashed his ship on Yaren and blacked out in the pilot's seat. One thing for certain was that his body was sore and in pain.

"Supreme Guildkeeper Archos" said a nurse standing next to his bedside holding a clipboard. "We pulled you out of a mangled Marlin after you landed roughly into Yaren's docking bay". She shuffled around the paper on the clipboard. "Upon taking you in, we noticed something very strange with your vitals. It's nothing alarming yet, but very peculiar, like some sort of-"

"Enough" Nathan interrupted her, before getting up from the bed. He stumbled forward slightly, before regaining his composure. "Give me some new clothes" he demanded.

The nurse tried to argue, but the slow rise of Nathan's hand made her realize it was futile. She nodded quickly, before reaching into the draw and procuring a Core uniform. As she presented it to him, Nathan looked at her with a look of disdain. He sighed, before taking the garment and walking away to the changing room to put it on.

After getting changed, Nathan thought it'd be wise to return to Durban. As he walked into the docking bay, he could see the messy wreckage of his Marlin littered on one of the landing pads. Piercing the cockpit was a large, crystal-like shard, wedged tightly in-between the glass. It hummed with a bluish light, faintly fading away as time went on.

He thought back to his time in Major. His gambit played out and the Vagrants had given him an audience, however, it required them to infect him with a form of terminal alien bacteria. If he didn't keep in weekly contact with them, he would die. At the least, it was a preferable alternative to infestation. Regardless, he was sure he could arrange for the H+ clinic to search for a cure and then feign as if the Vagrants had any control over him thereafter. But for now, he would have to obey.

After talking to the dock master, he arranged for a shuttle to take him back to Durban. 30 minutes wait time. He could barely contain his excitement. He had to tell her what he had done. She would be so pleased with him.

She would be able to love him again.
