At the moment the Dromedary is the sort of go to Freighter out in the Omicrons for mining but wondered if its worth making the Kestrel a usable miner as well.

Actually, I'm going to bump this to bring more attention.
I would like to see the Kestrel used as a Generic Miner ID vessel. Currently, there are no freighters in the game that function for the Miner ID as mine-everything vessels. You're restricted to either fighters, the Hegemon, or a Sunburst which can only mine Neon. Factional freighter miners still have a huge bonus over generic miners, for those who just want to stick with one ore type. But I surmise there are some who would prefer to move about wherever life takes them!

I always thought that Miner ID can mine every single ore with 2.0 bonus by using Sunburst.
Edit: Hegemon is fat. Way too fat. I'd be happy with a mining ship that would be fair counterpart of Kamome for 'normal' ores.

According to the mining guide, the Miner ID only receives a bonus on Helium when using a Sunburst.

My main reason being the dromodary is the Boarderworlds Ship line which is an available to all line, the other line is the line that has the Eagle and what not, which also has the kestral Freighter. It just makes sense to me that it be used as a miner similure to the Dromodary

I remember proposing extension of the Miner ID freighters to have ability to mine. As far as I remember, the overall answer was just "no", because "stick either to Hegemon or Sunburst".

BUMP.
Any chance for Kamome-sized miner for normal ores? It's not like everyone needs these 10 turrets, lots of armor and that fat butt which is pain to move through mining fields that in 99% you'll get stuck. Something stat-based off Mammoth (or said Kamome) would surely do.
P.S. Give Miner ID ability to mine something else than Helium on its freighter. They can mine all other ores on Hegemon. Only.
