Restoration of NPC loot? - Toris - 12-04-2017

Almost all the NPC traders drop Water and Oxygen that has almost zero value. If you do cargo piracy and get bored at some point as you don't come across any players, it grows quite annoying that majority of NPC loot is just these two items. I remember the argument was that valuable cargo was removed from 99% of the NPCs because of fast income. Now we have ores which bring way bigger income than sitting on the lane and idly killing NPCs then dropping their goodies back and forth on an unlawful base of your choice.

Is there any chance for valuable cargo coming out of NPC transports being restored for pirates in freighters and transports? I would love to dust off my Correo.

Zoner drama was why this was removed. Zoners were shooting their own NPCs to get loot and reset their rep by docking on a base, thus allowing them to continue to generate loot money easily.

This definitely should be a thing again. I recall one could make money with a Junker ID transport in Kepler/Omega-3 by pirating NPCs and ore traders.

In that case, make it so Zoners don't carry anything, then.

I have never seen a Zoner BWT NPC that WASN'T carrying Water or Oxygen. Also, the best Zoner loot is in Delta. Because I shoot Zoners. For money.

I agree with that Zoner NPCs would just move Oxygen, Water and some other supplies that aren't really worth much to avoid abuse of that system. I think that would solve the case. Devs?

It happened with every ID. You'd see Rogues, LPI, and so forth, outside of Bethlehem just doing this over and over since they could just get a bribe.

It'd be nice to see cargo hauling npcs at jump gates then, with the exception of gates with stations next to them. I guess this is still abuse-able by lawfuls however, since they could shoot lawful trade npcs, take a single lane segment to the nearest base, and fly back. At least it wouldn't be right next to a base, then. Still, I can see why it was completely removed in the first place now, knowing some context.
