A Cruiser problem - alexrocko - 01-07-2018

hello. Don't know if this is where i am supposed to post but if its not the place can the moderators please move the thread?
So my problem is i bought a Liberty cruiser and i often have problems using the trade lanes. i dock to start traveling but it just sits there.
Another problem i have is after cruise speeds it takes a lot of time to gain energy and i have missions where i enounter gunboats i think. they kill me before i can even shoot.
if there is something i don't know or any info about this thank you

The big ships always have trouble docking on lanes and that is because of their size, something you have to endure when you use big ships.

As for you beeing without power when you enter the misions, do not cruise all the way to the mision waypoint but stop at 5 or 6 k disntance then wait untill you core has rechared then go in by truster.

Friendly regards from,
Erik

For the trade lanes, you just need to learn how to aim your ship to dock smoothly with the lane, additionally, if it does fail, usually docking on the next lane will give you ship time to line up and dock nicely.

As for the power recharge, that is done to prevent, or help reduce, large ships (namely battleships but also cruisers/gunboats) from just cruising up and insta-killing others. I advise you stop... about 4k from the mission and wait for your core to fill, then go in and wreck havoc.

When using trade lanes, switch to first person view (default hotkey is ctrl v), makes it easier to guide through the lane. Otherwise, just keep trying. It's an old issue.
With regards to cruise and energy, this is intended. When you're doing missions, you should come out of cruise earlier, before you reach 2.4k of the waypoint, and give your energy time to recharge.

It comes with practice. Just aim your cruiser closer to the center of the trade line, then he will make a dock.

Also, make sure that the first lane ring you are attempting to dock with is closely aligned with the next. Attempting to dock while "not inline" with the lane causes this issue for me more than anything else.

try to give yourself space when docking with a trade line, try not to do it when your right next to it or where you would need to do a sharp turn, as large ships are not made for such things.
