Question about required faction participation - me_b_kevin - 01-26-2009

1st.

i've never been in a faction, i've joined two but quickly quit because i never felt i was doing the membership justice with my play schedule.

my question is, do most faction in discovery require members to play a minimum amount of time each week/month?

i've always wanted to hop into a LF and join up with some faction pals, but never thought i could justify my faction membership with my play time.

2nd.

what factions would want a part time member (me) who sucks at fighter combat but is fairly good at role playing?

Us at Bowex would greatly appreciate more escort pilots. You don't need to be able kill attackers, just delay long enough for any transports to get away.

And even if you couldn't get ingame we have a Skype channel that most of us are content to just chat on. But then I suspect you're looking for a military faction:P

I don't require much of members to show participation. Most players who leave or take a break usually notify me first anyway. The occasional report in the message dump shows you're on, which is handy if you are in a different time zone. And respond to the occasional roll-call.

You're welcome with us anytime. Check out the recruitment requirements in the S/D handbook (in my sig)

Oh, well in that case...

*nods at sig*

In all seriousness, Bowex is great fun, and we have three distinct areas from which to base your RP. We also have a crucial part in the New Bretonia, with our own Royal Charter (which can be found in the Diplomacy Area of the RP hub) and a mention in the new Bretonian Constitution.

1) The Trade Division - as the name indicates.
2) The Security Division - provides escorts to protect the Trade Division and Division three.
3) The Exploration Division - well... Explores stuff.

Well if you're willing to fly a Hyena, awesome for piracy, tres poor for PvP, and you can RP a futuristic pirate (not so fond of the Arrr!Shiver me timbers" lot) then feel free to lob an app in the LR recruitment. We've no worries about part-timers.

Come try the other side of the coin, be a cop. Come to the light side, we have donuts!

Well...

here comes the shameless plug.

Much like Del's rogues we at the XA get our newbies flying a hawk for a little while. I can fully appreciate the difficulty in getting game time, so the requirements for getting yourself out of it ain't too high.

We're permenantly outnumbered, outgunned, but never out-shouted. The underdog appeal of the Xenos is the real charm I think.

We spout rhetoric, do stuff like stopping trade by getting everyone to drop all their cargo, shout at coppers, make lewd comments about their mothers and sisters. Shout yeehaw at times.

You'd fit right in.

Oh yeh... We shoot people as well.

Check the linky in my sig for more information.
