Finished Ingame Help System - Karlotta - 02-10-2018

So after Ash, Vendetta, eigos, The Jarl, Antonio, Ends, Sand_Spider, Thunderer, HassLHoFF, Thyrzul, and Taeni read parts or all of it and I implemented their suggestions and then re-read it several times, I think the help system is ready to put into the game.

It covers everything players need to know in as few words as possible, organized by topic. It's a solar system not attached to others called "Help System", mapped to anyone from the start in the upper right corner of the Sirius map.

This is is already finished and all staff has to do is replace 1 file, but unfortunately they refuse to do it without giving a reason:

The infocards within are easily accessed by anyone at any time and readable by bored traders, as this video demonstrates:

The rules were only reworded, not changed (point out instances where they are inconsistent with current rules please).

If you didn't find any errors, please post things like: "I read this X times and didn't find any errors."

At this point I think there are very few errors left because I re-read everything multiple times already, and so did a few other people. So its more about getting as many people as possible to read over it and post their findings here a.s.a.p.

This would work quite well, but the overall way about it is a tad... err.. "out of the way". This still also runs into one of the main blocks the I pointed out before regarding the requirement of dev input and implementation.

Would be nice to have some comments from devs. I also have a question:

I used the infocard numbers 252600 to 252608 and 268009 to 268051 to make this, always alternating between "Name" type and (i) infocards counting upwards (even numbers names, odd numbers (i)nforcards).

The numbers 252610 to 252718 already exist when I look at it with the software "FL Infocard", but appear to have only blank entries.

Is it better for me to use the non-existing numbers, or the existing numbers with blank entries? Is there a certain number range that is best to use for this?

Would we have an announcement that tells you how to get to the help system?

Think this is a good idea, as long as there is an easy way to help people discover it.

It can be mentioned in the welcome message that appears when logging on. Also people are bound to stumble on it sooner or later when they look at the sector map. Also, other players can mention the system to people when they notice they dont know about stuff.

I personally think that waiting for a FLHook fix would be better, but that is just me. Kudos to you for trying to fix things though, at least some people are taking initiative. If you have discord, you should join the tutorial server ^-^.

Note: I am drunk as can be. If there are typos, I'll fix them tomorrow. Autocorrect says nothing wrong tho.

Personally think this is a better option than the proposed /help
/help *something* commands is its something visible and easy in game that doesn't vanish or move with incoming messages.
However I'm unsure how long it would take to add that system/all planets and then set it to fully discovered on all restarts

What’s the FLHook thing?
