Wow, what wonderful community relations skills, I am in awe of your humility.

Unless you're a major storyline focus or a group in obvious trouble, groups don't just passively aquire anything. You have to work through them with the story team and show RP development correlative to your progression. Most groups active groups are balanced against each other.

That is not entirely true.
While you are very inclined to picture that all of your gained assets are there because you've invested your time in the RP acquiring them, it is just as likely that they are added in an attempt to make a certain ID more appealing for other players.

We had this happen with many nieche IDs before.
Regardless of what sort of roleplay or effort you put into the game environment, do not even assume for a moment that you are suddenly entitled for assets because of it. Content that is added to the mod serves many purposes, one of which is to be used by players outside your own faction. Usually it is the mod and server that gets the toys, of which you can use as well, not the other way around. Or in a perfect disco that'd be the case.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

However, the assets I'm referring to are things like a space station being remodelled, or a tech change, etc. What happens is a give-and-take between effort imput, the rules, and what is fun for everyone, with the last value the maximal factor.

Official factions are a tiny fraction of the playerbase.

I was not aware that stating what should be common sense about assumptions and opinions was a mark of egotism, or are you refering to constructive criticism being more useful than complaint?

To give a little more insight into what Sindroms has nicely summed up, the Story team do occasionally ask official factions to "prepare" for certain previously agreed upon changes. The expansion/upgrading of a base is typically where you see this in action and usually involves asking the faction in question to get supplies delivered to that particular base, naturally this requires a dev to keep tabs on the supplies and may not be done if their time is limited.

Unfortunately, in the past such additions have been made for less than legitimate reasons with some misteps probably taken with good intentions but in reality proved otherwise. At the risk of jinxing the whole thing, I think it's safe to say the last few years have been free of such things.
