Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren of the Battlegroup Harmony,

In order to introduce myself swiftly: My name ist Emmanuel von Gottschall, acting Oberst as well as Generalsekretär of Die Weiße Rose, the organization I am representing. I don't know inhowfar I am telling you anything new when I quickly state that the Weiße Rose is a movement inside the greater Bundschuhbewegung, aiming at leading the Bundschuh to success against the Rheinland government again after a long time of inner turmoil.

As far as I was informed, your people and ours already had the pleasure of encountering each other at least once, when our former Oberst Helena Wunderbring paid Bering a rather brief visit. I have spent some time closely analyzing her message dump about this specific event, however there is frankly not much to analyze. There is nothing to be found in it that indicates who shot whom first, but only that a fight took place not soon after she had entered Bering

While it is usually a waste of time to try to communicate with one's enemies in my opinion, I am not entirely sure inhowfar you are in fact our enemies. In the meantime, our former Oberst Wunderbring has taken her leave in a rather abrupt fashion. Although "De mortui nil nisi bene" - "Say nothing but good of the dead" - is generally a good resolution, I harbour doubts whether Wunderbring was incapacitated due to severe stress back then and how much her words can be trusted on this matter. That is why I would like to inquire what really happened back then. Not as an interrogation, but rather as a first step to possibly solving this problem. In my eyes, hostilities between our two organizations will not be fruitful at all and will help none of us in our struggles.

In case the chain of events that led to hostilities happened differently and our Oberst indeed overreacted over whatever happened in Bering, I guess apologies in the name of Die Weiße Rose are in order.

In fact, there might be the opportunity of cooperation in the future, depending on where Harmony's focus currently lies. In case a liaison is sought by both parties, naturally an exchange of both our current plans and goals would be necessary to spot any overlaps where we could kick-start cooperations.

What do you say?

That is quite the speech you've offered. Normally I'd be moved by the sincerity of the words, however, I find it extremely difficult to believe that one of our transport captains was hunting, or even instigating an attack on a fighter. As such, I'm afraid your words have lost a fair amount of credibility already.

Despite this inconsistency and perhaps misguided attempt to disguise the matter, we have decided to not close diplomatic channels entirely, in the off chance that you do have something of note to say. That said, I advise staying clear of Bering to prevent... incidents.

Sehr geehrte Fräulein Smith,

And I must say that your words surprise me. In no line of Oberst Wunderbring's report does a transport vessel get any sort of mention. To clarify, in my current situation I can't have any more credibility than her report has, right now I can only tell you what my former Oberst has made out of this. After all, I myself were not present during the incident - in fact, nobody else besides Wunderbring was, which admittedly puts the credibility of her report on a rather low level.

Due to this, I think you might want to have a look at this:

(12-23-2017, 08:07 PM)Ex-Oberst Helena Wunderbring Wrote: I have been roaming around in Liberty lately and had an encounter with a Separatist ship that claimed that there was a bounty on my head. Naturally, the ship opened up on me as I responded. It seems that our stance towards the Liberty Separatists, especially their leaders of the Battlegroup Harmony, have turned us into their enemies.

I am not trying to disguise anything at the moment, rather I am trying to shed light into the darkness of what really happened. This is why I was asking for Harmony's view on these events. If anything, I want to have this sorted out, preferably in a non-violent manner. Since so far this conflict appears to be more or less a personal feud between the Battlegroup and our former leader, and since we are now under new leadership, I believe and hope that we can simply leave this one-time incident be.

You've decided to make an effort, so I'll make one back. Find attached the complete report and incident.

Allow me to highlight the problem here.

Code:
[10.12.2017 12:53:12] DWR|Gott.des.Krieges: Helena: Separatist ship, stop your engines.
[10.12.2017 12:53:59] DWR|Gott.des.Krieges: H: I've been dealing with your ships a lot of times now.
[10.12.2017 12:54:24] DWR|Gott.des.Krieges: H: I am pretty sure I told you to stop.
[10.12.2017 12:54:25] H|-SNS-Detroit: We're not stopping for you.
[10.12.2017 12:54:37] DWR|Gott.des.Krieges: H: That is a bad idea.
[10.12.2017 12:54:45] DWR|Gott.des.Krieges: H: Against you I am ready to use violence.

And finally, the ship in question.

Sehr geehrte Fräulein Smith,

Thanks for the recordings you have attached to your message. They surely were helpful to get a better glimpse on what exactly led to the hostilities Wunderbring depicted in the message I have shown you. Interestingly enough, she had never made mention of this first encounter in Bering.

From all I can tell, she must have had a rather itchy trigger finger, and also seemed to be too paranoid than appropriate in this particular situation. From a psychological standpoint, such conduct can be a sign of susceptibility to stress under which Wunderbring suffered. I dislike to disparage my former superior in this way, but she obviously was not of sound mind back then. Which is what turned your presumably first encounter with us into ridicule, and also provoked hostilities. I am not sure what made her ready to use violence against people we barely had the pleasure of running across yet, but I think it yet again falls under the category of overreaction.

In any case, I hope that you are of the same opinion as I am: that we should, instead of abusing this one-time incident to steer up unnecessary hostilities, let bygones be bygones. Different to our vanished predecessor, we don't wish to use violence against those who don't have to be fought.
