To: The Coalition - Gas Miners Guild - 03-11-2018

To whom it may concern,

Good day. I trust this message finds you well.

Earlier today, a battlegroup carrying your IFF was met in Sigma-17. This itself is of no issue, as the Coalition is welcome to traverse Guild space as freely as any others. The reason The Guild is making contact today is that your ships were met while an ongoing Corsair operation is taking place in Sigma-17. They have constructed a space station and have ships present to ensure its safety.

Were this station allowed to remain standing, it will no doubt be responsible for an explosion of hostile activity in the system, with Corsair raiders using it as a base to attack all local traffic. Our paramilitary is taking measures to mitigate this threat as necessary, however, it is recommended that in the meantime caution is observed in the space afflicted with this infestation.

If this information is of use to you, please consider it a friendly tip, for which no reward is expected. If it is of no benefit to yourselves, please forgive the intrusion and accept The Guild's best wishes.

Cordially,

Keiji Namura

Your initiative in forwarding this to us in a spirit of good will is greatly appreciated. Though Coalition culture does not revolve around monetary remuneration, you have paid us a good turn and are more than welcome to one of your own, you need only name it.

I have both encountered the Cretan splinter that owns this installation as well as received a set of enlightening reports that this particular group of Corsairs had indeed tried communicating with our pilots diplomatically, which is rather peculiar.

At this junction it is likely that you will be pressing an assault on the station in question and it is also not out of the question that the other, equally vile criminal rivals may attempt to do the same given their connections in the neighbouring House of Kusari. This of course presents a unique opportunity to have two enemies at the throats of one another and to utilise the ensuing chaos to ensure regional stability is achieved for both our sakes.

Please confirm to me how you would prefer to go about such an operation, as I am well aware that the Guild must be mindful of its optics and how closely it associates with us, especially when bordered by two sworn enemies of the Coalition.

Thank you once more for your courtesy.

Krsnik,

Thank you for your attention.

The Guild was not, until now, aware of a schism amongst the Corsairs. If the Cretan menace is indeed suffering from a rupture of sorts, this will no doubt be of benefit to us all. Unfortunately, this supposed splinter group has made no contact with GMG, nor have they displayed any attitude towards our organisation that differs in any way from the treatment we usually experience at the hands of the Corsairs, so their incursion into Sigma-17 cannot be considered anything but an invasion of sovereign Guild space. They may not be acting in harmony with their brethren, but since their behaviour in the Sigma systems has not altered, they must be immediately dislodged. There is also the possibility of their claims of discord being nothing more than a malicious ruse.

The Gas Miners Guild will conduct operations with the end goal of complete eradication in mind, as we cannot rely on their former brothers in arms to do the job. Were the Coalition to have any interest in striking a blow against the allegedly disjointed barbarians, your forces would be most welcome to operate in conjunction with our own, or even, independently should you wish. Any theoretical collusion must of course remain esoteric in nature, though I expect there would be no issue in maintaining this covert cooperation.

Such an operation is, of course, hypothetical and The Guild will in no way attempt, nor expect to be capable of forcing any debts on the Coalition. However, should you intend on delivering a striking blow in Sigma-17, The Guild would be most happy to collaborate. In the meantime, we fully intend to act to neutralise the impending threat.

Cordially,

Keiji Namura

You would have made a fine General Herr Namura. I have one minute request in line with what sources of our research division has asked of me. I would ask that you postpone hostile action against the forces of the Apostatas. I will attempt to appeal to their senses as this schism is far more profitable to both of us if a deployment would not even be necessary. If I can convince them to respect your space, would you cease hostility and treat them as you would us? If I fail, the Coalition will ensure the mess is handled quickly and discreetly, which should serve as compensation for the time wasted, if it turns out that way.

I hope this is acceptable to you.

Krsnik,

The Guild is more than happy to open discussions with the Apostatas regarding their split from the rest of the Corsairs and may even, in the future, be able to offer them refuge. We rule out no options and welcome cooperation with all who may be receptive to such arrangements.

Unfortunately, their installation in Sigma-17 cannot remain and must be dismantled. Should it be possible for this construct to be removed peacefully and a deal to be struck, GMG would most certainly be willing to work with yourselves and the Aspostatas on a more constructive arrangement and even provide assistance in establishing another installation in a different location. We are thrilled at the chance to be able to work towards a peaceful solution and are most grateful for your advice on this matter. For now, The Guild shall defer to your judgement and cease paramilitary operations against Puerto de Nueva Hispania.

Without intending to cause offence, we hope you understand this armistice cannot persist indefinitely without further information but we of course will endeavour to resolve our issues together in a constructive manner.

The Guild is most appreciative for your time and attention and shall await your reply before taking any further action.

Cordially,

Keiji Namura

The Apostatas have agreed to a talk on neutral ground in Omega 49. The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, I will keep you in "the loop" of what is discussed and concluded from this discussion.

As a show of appreciation for your move to keep us informed of the developments in Sigma 17, I will ask them certain questions that you might have on behalf of you, Kindly convey to me of what concerns you might have or what you feel requires an explanation and I will obtain it, as well as furnish it within this channel.

Your concerns will be taken into account during this meeting, you can be certain of that.

Guildmaster Namura.

I hereby report that the outreach made to the Apostatas was not in vain and they have considered and accepted the offer of entering into a pact with us and are more than willing to coordinate in the fight against Crete and its tyrannical Council of Elders. As you showed interest in a successful diplomatic outcome, I am willing to put you in touch with the Apostatas forces so that you may converse with them on how best the current issues may be addressed. Additionally I will also be opening the channel up to the Blood Dragons, given the accord we share with them in regards to the Sigma region and the nearby House of Kusari.

I hope this is satisfactory and not presumptuous of me.

Konnichiwa, Krsnik, Guild Representatives.

Further Corsair influence in the system doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, our battlegroup has encountered the ApS once before, they appeared to be defending the Kusari Naval forces station, that has recently been destroyed by Custodi forces. If this new splinter faction is, in fact, inline with the KNF then I will have to agree with a course of violence and will happily commit the Blood Dragon battlegroup to removing their station in the Sigmas.

I will wait to see where discussions go before giving the order but our fleet is ready to assist you Namura, should you need it. I have little faith that diplomacy between honourable dragons and cannibals can go very far and at this point in time, I have little interest speaking with such savages.

As such I have assigned Daimyo Watanabe, Daimyo of Honshu and as such chief liaison between the Dragons and the Sigma organisations to oversee the initial contact with this "splinter group". Any chance of further diplomacy will be the result of his report to me, based upon his initial impressions of the Apostatas.

Krsnik, as we have yet to reach out to the Apostatas, would you be able to open a private communication channel between Daimyo Watanabe and their Representative barbarian.

Shogunate Treasurer and Representative of Shogun Hideyoshi.

Herr Hideyoshi.

Consider it done. For the sake of cohesion please have your liaison report back to this channel so that the simultaneous negotiations are in conjunction with one another, it would be most convenient for a joint pact to be established, this would also significantly lessen the complexity of any binding agreements.

Contact me if there is anything else.
