Online in Discovery mod - Mr.Mike. - 03-18-2018

Hello!

Fashion is really very interesting. Somehow I was touched by the thought: what happens if the stable online will be 200 people? It is for people to visit the server in such quantity not in the evening, after their worries, but play in such quantity every day. Just imagine how cool it would be to play this mod!

And now the mod has become obsolete with time, as well as its most part in information and any other form. In short, I propose the following:
- To engage in the revival of the Disco-Wiki. It is very outdated since the most recent updates. I suppose I have "fresh information" in my hands. Do you know about Matchan Network? Why not make Wiki in the same short and clear style? I think we have all the strength for this.

- To create more major events between different states. I witnessed about 3 or 4 events between the Corsairs and the Outcasts. I watched the videos of the participants of those events. Honestly, I did not see the epic nowhere else.

- Encourage the promotion of "dead" factions. I mean creating factions where they should be. For example, Xeno Alliance, which is now reviving the Xenos faction. I think that it is possible to create individual assistants who could help in the development of such factions (well, or factions from here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=137098)

- Punish official factions for a zero asset. There are many factions that have official status, but do not organize any operations/having no activity even in the Message Dump. I think that within 3 months of inactivity on the part of this faction, it must be deprived of its official status or the replacement of the leader by a more active member of the faction (with his consent, otherwise the transition to an unofficial level).

- Create some cool trailer for the game. To those who looked at him, said: "Hell, I want to play it!" And immediately the idea for this: it will be even steeper to make a trailer at once with several levels of voice acting.

Guys, the asset can be raised, we just have to at least understand how to do it. What I wrote off is my proposals. I would like to hear suggestions from you, including (perhaps someone has ideas).

Bump

You posted this three hours ago. Don't start bumping it.

Ok, good ideas. Add also something that can convince the players to collaborate to survive ingame when there aren't other players to interact, like restoring all NPCs like old times...

I understand that officialdom should be taken after a certain amount of time with no activity. However, I feel like there are factions which can be official even without spending so much time in the game. When "Logging for fun" becomes "Logging to get the faction activity done", players feel less motivated to play. I experienced that on myself multiple times and in different games. Forum activity (roleplay) should be taken into account when judging a factions' activity, too. Unfortunately, that's pretty much not possible as you can't really measure quality and quantity of roleplay. In my opinion, there shouldn't be an activity check relying solely on ingame activity, but it should be encouraged to have multiple factions of the same ID "battling" for officialdom. What needs to be replaced simply gets replaced. It's not like official factions that are there but no ingame hurt anyone.

Here the role of motivation is important. I have already noticed more than once that most people come just for the sake of "pew-pew", while the server also has RP elements. But all the reconciliation is to create a firefight, finish it and leave the game in anticipation of the next shootout.

For example, in BDM| there is much to be done. There they are encouraged for military merit, and ranks (for which I was a witness) are given for activity, and there is something to do besides shooting.

And to create once a month an operation and call all the participants of the faction there is not so difficult. A couple of days are enough to organize everything. It is still faster, if you try. It is possible, in the end, to come up with various motivating tasks. For example, why is the Bounty Board in Liberty only for Bounty Hunters and Police? Why can not the military send applications there? Of course, the military is one who fights not for money, but for the interests of his state, but let's be realistic: this is one of the ways to induce them to act.

In addition, we have leaders who have already stayed too long at their posts and do not give it to other, really active people. I would not create my sixth fleet, if Arbs acted. I would not fight Harmony, as it is now, but do I have a choice? There is nowhere else to fight, except there. Although, my faction provides for other tasks, I simply do not have a choice and that's all. Of course, this contradicts my words above, but I care about the future of mod and server.

Previously, people came for the RP. Now they go in for trade or for battle. And those who come to the RP, very little.

I am speaking as a proud XA member.

Xenos were always a trouble to play as, since their techcell is limited, there's nothing much they can do. However, when the fairplay, equality, and RP come from the "enemy" side, then Xenos are one of the most enjoyable factions to play as. We are attempting for officialdom, and with your option to implement monthly obliged operations...well. Lets be honest. Half of the factions in Disco, including us would lose officialdom in a month. There are faction currently incapable of creating events. Don't make me list all of them.

Not in a month, but in three then. And I pointed out that factions that not only do not create operations, but simply do not enter into the game and do not create any internal asset, should fall under the blow.

RE: Online in Discovery mod - SnakThree - 03-19-2018

This s a game. Forced activity just to keep official status is bullshit. I had real life troubles and obligations for last 2 months and haven't been in-game or responded to communications. And if it were 3, I would now get anxiety over losing official status that gives our faction little benefit. No thanks. Goodbye.

It's just an idea. I'm not saying that it should be exactly the way I wrote it. In the end, we have an administration that solves such questions and brings the idea to the level of "cool, class".
