I am Hirotada Watanabe, head of the Watanabe Clan, and the Daimyo of Honshu. By the powers vested in me by the Shogunate - in all its wisdom - I will be initiating the start of these negotiations. It is by no means a daily occurence, that we are presented with a chance for discourse with one of your people, and we find ourselves in a predicament of uncertainty. Time and again, we have come into conflict with the Corsairs, both for the wanton encroachment and plunder of our homeland, and for the support they've rendered to our sworn enemies. We are not ones to easily forget past ills, but we're also not ones to discard human sympathy and attainment of understanding. Therefore, before we delve deeper and get to the crux of the matter, we would like to gain a more wholesome understanding of your situation. Your goals, aspirations, differences and reasons for leaving the Cretan society would help paint a more complete picture of what you represent. Let it be known; I come before you bearing no mask, no ill will or pretense, but with a heart open to reconciliation. And I hope you will be able respond on equal terms.

My most sincere respects to the Daimyo, and to you too representative Wantanabe. It is indeed a true pleasure to address one of the representatives of the organisation that fought valiantly during the first Nomad wars. My condolences to those fallen in battle for humanity.
I do believe certain facts need to be ironed out about The Apostatas.
First and foremost, we exist for the betterment of the citizens of Crete. As history has indeed taught us, to succeed in true leadership, one must always ascertain the needs of those who placed you in that position of power. The Council of Elders have failed the great Empire of Crete.
Our existence of-course stems from our fate on-board the Hispania. My people, pioneers of humanity came to Sirius to start afresh just like your ancestors on-board the Kusari, to reap the benefits of a new age. A true shame that was not to be.
My people, suffered on that rock we called home, Crete. We have little to no farm-able land, we have no proper homes and frankly, it was hell and it still is. A space faring civilization we are, yet we live like malnourished cattle.
Yet, The Brotherhood and Custodi fully knowing this, waste our manpower, waste that precious bit of tenacity and potential for greatness my people have for nothing short of piracy and murder. The citizens rot, without food, without water and stations that look like a gas implosion is imminent float above. Yet, the value for life is nothing short of a tragedy in Crete. A ship is often considered more valuable than a human life.
I have watched my near and dear ones die from undernourishment and a friend die from ship core radiation poisoning.
I have seen them suffer enough, We the Apostatas have seen this suffering long enough. We want what's best for our people, the innocent citizens of Crete.

We bring you no ill will representative Wantanabe, we are not the looters and plunderers you have witnessed.
We are simply trying to bring some order and sanity for our dying Empire. The current Council of Elders are simply, a means to a slow and tragic end of my people. Would any sane person allow this atrocity to continue?
One mustn't forget the greater battle that eventually faces us in the Deeper Omicrons. But before all that, We of the Apostatas fight to save our people.

That is our story. I believe the time for shedding old hatred is warranted. I do hope you share my mindset Representative Wantanabe. I await your communique with good faith.

Representative Walker,

I see. I can sympathize with your situation; As we have likewise lived in hard, spaceborne conditions for many generations. But we never gave up our humanity or faltered in pursuit of that which is just and good. It is perhaps not too late to hope that we can leave behind a better world, for future generations to enjoy. Though the tale of your group, and the tale of the Cretan people as a whole is tragic; You can take solace in the fact that such hardships can be used as a great motivator towards improvement, if they are interpreted correctly. The sowed misery you might feel now, is the happiness you will reap in the future. Such is the balance of the universe; If your actions are swift, and tempered by a strong mind. But I digress.

I could convince my peers to offer aid to you. But first, I must know how well equipped you are, how many of you there are, and how you intend to fight for your cause. The Dragons can be a stalwart and courageous friend, to all those who can reciprocate such friendship. There is great potential in this, and I hope you will have the wisdom to recognize that. If your next answer is favorable, I will forward my impressions to the Shogunate and they will enter the negotiations accordingly.

Buenos días Representatives

I am Coronel Ray Cordoba.

Apologies for the delay in response but General Walker has become indisposed and is unable to continue the talks on behalf of my father. I will thus be taking over the Diplomacy and act as the direct Head of Apostatas until my father Senor Alexander Cordoba returns and "if" he returns.

Our Strength is uncertain at this time as many of our people are scattered and our fleet spread out with different operations. Our main force has Capital ships including a Corsair Dreadnought, few Cruisers, Gunboats and so forth. We are however facing an issue of repairing said ships as we lack a drydock at this stage. As we have seen Blood Dragon Capital ships in action we are sure you might even help us in this regard. However, I am sure that the Shogunate do not trust us yet and that we are yet to reach a stage where we can discuss such things. Our plan to overthrow the Council of Elders can not be discussed openly as of yet. But do know we intend to take it by force. We also have some "supporters" that are making sure we are supplied for a war. We are equipped to deal with some guerrilla type warfare but we lack a proper home or area to operate from.

We trust that you will be satisfied with this reply and I once again apologize for the delay, we do not intend to act disrespectful.

My part in this is over; and the charge over further negotiations will be transferred to the Shogun's direct representative, who I suspect will contact you soon. I have made no attempt to hide my disliking of corsair culture, however, Daimyo Watanabe has made it clear to me that you have been exiled from your home simply because you wanted to rise against the foul stereotypes that plague your people. You have a lot of work to do to prove your people worthy of our trust but for now, we will settle for accepting that you indeed have a struggle on your hands and that puts us both in the same boat.

The Shogun has great hopes for this friendship, he extends his wishes that he may one day see Apostatas and Blood Dragons flying as brothers in arms across Sirius. To me, this wish appears ever slightly out of reach, but It is my duty to see the Shoguns wishes brought to fruition. In northern Kusari there is a system called Nagano, within that system, we have multiple moderately sized villages and outposts your civilians are welcome to stay and live there but understand that this planet is in a state of war with Samuran forces.

As for your capital vessels, The Shogunate currently holds a prototype manufactory within this same system. You are to be given full control of this installation and Dragon engineers sent from the Shogunate and the Watanabe Clan will be stationed there to assist you with any repairs needed.

This deal does need to work both ways. If the future is to hold a great alliance between our peoples our enemies will need to become yours, KNF and Samuran forces will need to be primary hostiles to your vessels and forces whilst you reside in Nagano, for defeat of them there will earn you and your people a permanent home on Tomioka.

Additionally substances defined as contraband within the Hideyoshi Reformations will not be allowed on your vessels or your installation during this time, The major concern is slaves, the shogunate is extremely against slavery and will do all in its power to help you rescue any you think will be sympathetic to your cause.

Buenos días Representative Heung Hideyoshi

I am very pleased to hear that the Shogun has such high hopes for our future together. Of course it would take time to build our respective views and diplomatic ties, but I believe what the Shogun is hoping for can be achieved.

Your proposal for the Nagano system is indeed a huge honor for us. What you are offering is more than what we even closely expected the Shogun would offer...We are humbled by your generosity and I can not see any other way but as to accept your offer. Many of our civilians are still spread across different systems but for safety reasons we would not send any of them to Nagano until we have secured the area. The Coalition has been of huge help in providing for our civilians so I would say that they are safe for now.

We have a current ceasefire with the Kusari Government, but with this new agreement we shall break that ceasefire and move against the Kusari Naval forces and Samura combat vessels.

Gracias for the efforts to assist us with our Capital vessels. It has been a large concern for us and it would seem that it is resolved for now. We will make preparations and send the first few ships to Nagano.

I hope this is the first to many more fruitful agreements.
