I know I was just reasoning that if the xenos cannot have an 8.33 that deals particle damage, then a 6.67 would be appropriate.

If anything, Black Widows should be changed. Suntigers are at least energy efficient and are good with sustained chainfire while Black Widows don't really fit any purpose.

I'm not really sure if Black Widows really need drastic changing a-la altering their refire rate. Comparably speaking, Suntigers are the 5th lowest dps hull buster gun at the moment. If we compare it to the Lane Hacker's 4.00, the Suntiger has a better weapon type, but at nearly 250m less range, and 50m/s slower on projectile speed.

The Black Widow on the other hand deals 100 more damage per shot, but is a bit on the higher end of energy consumption at 604 energy a second. If a Xeno wants energy efficient guns, all they would need to do is not use Xeno guns.

Back in the day (Edit: We're talking like, 10 years ago, here), Black Widows were the most powerful human guns; they even beat out the old Krakens in terms of dps. The caveat was thus: They guzzled your powercore like nothing else. Their high dps was at the cost of lowest efficiency. The current day Black Widow, in comparison, is relatively tame.

I guess you could re-vamp Black Widows instead, but that would be going against the vast majority of other votes in this thread.

Back then, servers were full of people that didn't know how to fly. Energy efficiency is important for group fights and just in general so I don't think anyone wants the old widows back. Personally I stopped using them because of the nerf down to 650ms and my dislike of 4.0s. Some like them though so to each their own. I don't think widows need to be touched, suntigers however see no use. We used to use them on heavy fighters because the core couldn't handle widows anywhere near a feasible level. Widows are manageable how they are and, sure, the option of splitting them for group fights is nice but we have very little tech to begin with of our own. Variance for those who don't like 4.0's and still want to use xeno tech while flying a xeno is more important in my mind than the one odd person who throws suntigers with widows on his ship.
