Corsica's name? - misterich - 04-16-2018
I have asked myself that very often; why is one of the coolest stations in Discovery - Corsica Outer Sanctum, a huge Maltesian Base of small planet size - named after an island that gave the orginal erath corsairs their name? I mean Maltesian and Corsairs hate each other more than Coalition and Alliance at Sol time, so why the hell they name a station similiar to them?
Is there any great idea behinde I cannot see?

Lettre de Course gave name to Corsairs, not Corsica. Corsica never was affiliated with corsairs, just baguette language names all the same.

As a member of the Unione Corse and IRL lover of all things Corsica, that the dreadful Outcasts would name one of their filthy lairs after the Isle of Beauty is a matter of grave significance to me. I will petition UC to go on an all-out war of reclamation of Corsica.

Given just how old that station's name is, and how long it preceded Gallia's existence; I can promise you now that it's not changing.

Corsicans too thought they were all safe and untouchable on their island. Then, everything changed when the French nation attacked.

But then the revolution would lead to a Gallic empire rather than a republic.
