A debt to repay - Kyoi - 04-16-2018

Glendalough Orbital, 02/04/825 A.S.

A quiet, relaxing day of solitude, boredom and staring into blank space that was about to begin decided to take a turn for the worse as a rather friendly beep on a Sabre's message pad gave notice to a much more threatening message for the pilot.

You still owe me. You have a chance to clear your debt now. I will wire you the schematics for a certain type of rare weaponry. Construct samples and meet my client. You have 2 weeks. Coordinates will be wired on the final day. Stay close to the Coronado system.

Dot stares at the pad, now in panic at this wake-up call. The schematics point toward a rather obscure and outdated weapon cannon of Rheinlandic origin. The nature of the weapon required an enormous amount of energy to fire a single shot and a coolant to prevent overheating. Quite a dangerous project to work on. It could certainly be done, and with any luck, less than a week. Finding the components to build it to exact specifications would be extremely difficult for such an outdated weapon, but perhaps a more modernised clone would not be too difficult.

Dot keeps her cool and strolls into the Engineering section on Glendalough. Decked out with fairly modernised equipment and a large surplus of generic parts for weapons and ships. She was fairly well trusted, or at least, the people were trusting. Getting help would be easy enough to get away with squandering Forlorn resources for this project. 5 cannons would be an unnoticeable use of resources anyway. Simply explaining it away as a replacement set of guns seemed to do the trick for the engineers who were far more interested in their own tasks.

A few days of work, testing, and the cannons were done. Now the waiting and boredom can finally begin again...

Coronado, 2C, 30 minutes.

Time to see who was coming to collect those guns. The Sabre leaves the hangar and plots a course towards the Barrier, realising how foolish it seems to be flying alone into the scanner inhibiting cloud for a meeting with a stranger...

The Sabre returns to the hangar. With a hold lighter of 5 guns. And a somewhat guilty pilot.
