Today patrols spotted a newly constructed installation inside the Omega 3 Comet Cobalt field.

Needless to say: It has to go.
No installations inside the mining areas can be permitted.

Dear Jack,

It seems that the automated defense systems fooled our patrols into thinking that the base was still occupied. Further investigation using more advanced scanners showed that the base was abandoned. Besides the life support and automated defenses, most of the other systems were non-functional, even the shield generator. The defenses were disabled and a team sent over to salvage the station for scrap material. The remains of the station were then scuttled with the use of mining explosives. Cobalt mining operations should be able to continue unhindered.
