Ladies and gentlemen of the First Fleet
This is Admiral Mark Ferguson of the Third Fleet. I'm sending this transmission in the hopes of gaining clarity, as well as reporting a rather frightening occurrence in the Texas system. Approximately one hour ago, the warship Arkansas was providing long range scans for the Houston grid. On the edge of her active sensor range stood the battleship Amenhotep and at the time a Unioner strikecraft. The latter vessel was engaged promptly by Sixth fleet fighter assets that arrived via New York, and was subsequently knocked out of action. With the Sixth's quick departure, a second wing consisting of two bomber craft moved in via New York, flying in and locking targets on the Amenhotep[1]. The Arkansas moved to assist in the defense, information[2] being supplied by the Amenhotep of the Sixth's prior attacks on the ship before with no sound reason. I insist on asking Admiral Cleveland about this, as her Fleet is specifically mentioned. Sixth fleet was pushed back, though not before landing strikes against both the Arkansas and the Amenhotep, and returned in the form of the cruisers Hampshire and New Wales, both disengaging after a very brief altercation. I hope that this amount of information will allow the First Fleet, and quite possibly the Fifth as well, to come to a decision about this warship. I've been alerted that both the Fifth and Sixth have engaged the Amenhotep, all seemingly for no reason other than a sparsely supported rumor, and for now I'm having my ships keep to standard operating procedure. A quick response would help this process, and give my men the clarity they'll need. Regards,
