Francisca "Fran" Crespo Banderas is the eldest daughter of two modest sharecropping farm holders. Until recently, she had no interest in taking flight to the stars, but societal pressures in the relatively isolated rural community she grew up in began to take their toll on her spirits. Her career as an escort pilot started less than a year ago, and in the time that has passed since her first flight, she has successfully defended several Maltese holdings and logistical operations in the Outcast sphere of influence. Her talents include objectively obliterating obtuse Crayterian cruiser captains with maximum magnificence and electric efficacy, alliteration, and hiding cardamine in her orange-bronze hair.

Santiago's parents are unknown, and died when he was a young child. He made his way on the streets for a year and a half before being adopted at roughly 8 years old by Don Emilio Santini. After adoption, his normal education was supplemented with personal lessons from his father about running a business, and eventually he took a particular interest in security. In 813, Mirage Squadron was established as Don Santini's private troubleshooting squad, and Santiago was one of the first pilots. Unfortunately, most records of his activity were lost. After a falling out between Don Santini and then acting leader of the 101st, Dennis Jameson, a hacker identifying himself as "the Mute Siren" deleted all military records on Mirage activity, backups included. Due to the precision and scope of the attack, it is generally believed to be related to the disagreements between the two men, though it yet remains unclear whose side the hacker was on.

During the Contari uprising, Don Santini took his family and left Malta for several years, only recently returning when it became clear Malta's climate had stabilized. Since returning to Malta, Don Santini has seen to his own security. Santiago intends to do some outside work for a while to broaden his experience, to better run the Santini holdings when the time comes that he must.

Born and raised on Malta. A normal lady minding her own business with a wish to fly for the Maltese Nation. Her parents did not mind her wish, but still wanted her to stay on the planet and lead a normal life. She went against that as much as she could and with coming of age, she got her flying licence and enlisted on pilot training for the Maltese Nation. After she got sent to the front lines where hell broke loose, she was happy and could not have enough of the action. By the time things calmed down a bit, she moved on to patrolling duty, taking down anyone who would harm her home land.

Born into a family of warriors with an penchant for evangelism, Renato left his home for the 72nd when the renegade battlegroup departed the Nacion's homeland to pursue their own agenda. Not seeing eye to eye the religious values of the D'Angelo's, Renato sought to embrace the other half of his family's legacy; that of the pilot. He won many victories against Gallia serving under the 72nd's banner until his luck ran out, and his Sabre was left adrift in the Cortez system until his rescue by the Armed Forces. Though fortunate that his saviors were forgiving of his origins and thankful for his service against the Roi, he was left without meaning. Before him was a House united and men with purpose, and his tenure with the 72nd had been an act of absconsion from his heritage, not a service to Malta.

Though unsure of what remained for him at home, he made his way back to to the Omicrons, dodging Royalist and Crayter patrols on his journey to Cali, where he met Sophia Rojo, a drifter and kindred spirit who was servicing Cali's fighters and freighters by 'day' and moonlighting as bartender by 'night'. The two grew close as he was forced to remain for a week, his wounded fighter unable to make the journey without further repairs which she performed with skill. During his time at Cali he learned of the Amalfi Directorate, and vowed to seek them out to redeem the second chance he had been given in full.

Upon his departure, he handed the last of his savings to Sophia - enough for her to buy herself a fighter of her own, and a future as more than just a technician, as he finally made his way home.
