A severe blow has been dealt to us today.
Upon my own initiative, a prison camp, Fort de Cayenne, was built in the vicinity of battleship Bétheny late in the evening yesterday, and some of our prisoners of war awaiting transfer to Gallia were sent there. Good lodgings, decent conditions, and actual food. I'd wager the life of the inmates was better by a large margin than that of the average libertonian peasant.

Earlier this evening, our prison camp, still in the final stages of construction and left without defence platforms as a message to our neighbours, was viciously attacked by a roaming pack of hairy Libertonian cockroaches. A very brave defence force was quickly assembled to fend them off, and did so successfully without losses. Alas, the Fort de Cayenne was lost to enemy fire. Only a minor portion of the 200-strong crew had managed to get to escape pods ; some of our people sacrificed themselves to save the life of high value prisoners.

These men and women died for Gallia. We will mourn them with the honours they have earned.
As an exceptional measure, the King has granted me the permission to issue all of our losses the Médaille du Courage, posthumously.
I have decided to extend this reward to Contre-amiral Jean-Yves Patrice de Justéton, who has personally overseen the development of project Cayenne, at great cost, risk and investment to himself. His tireless dedication, utter lack of fear, organisational skills and selflessness are a shining example of core Gallic values and all of us would do well to take inspiration from him. I will personally award him this medal in due time.
