Natio Octavarium recently came into posession of canisters of what appears to be a nanite-based chemical weapon of some sort. ![]() We've been carefully clearing an abandoned station of any trace of these, which will go far faster now that a Crayterian colonist explained how they've handled airborne pathogens in the past. However, we have some concerns. There may be more canisters aboard the station that we haven't found, and a containment breach could be a significant problem. The other is the reason we haven't simply jettisoned them into the Tau-44 sun: there may be more out there. Dr. Holiday, you are respected across Sirius for your medical knowledge and your dedication to the same. Natio Octavarium would like you to analyze these, and devise an antidote. I have included Yuma Robotics on this channel for their experience with nanoscale automation, which I believe will be essential for safely handling these devices. Our only condition is that we would ask that you come to Tau-44. I do not want to risk these falling into anyone else's hands. We previously contacted Ingenuus, but that line has fallen idle. It's possible that the obnoxious empire-building efforts in the far Omicrons have left the local Freeport comm arrays in a state of disrepair. As you are a man of medicine, I expect that you will want us to swear not to weaponize these devices, a condition that Natio Octavarium has no objection whatsoever to agreeing to. Besides being morally reprehensible, I assume, such a thing would bring the might of most of Sirius against us. I thank you for and am honored for your consideration on this matter. I have heard of biotoxic weapons and such and now have seen the proof or at least, agents or items of that nature that could be used as weapons. I find it sickening. We cannot and I personally will not allow these agents to fall into the hands of terrorists or even houses. You and I both know that they will use them. Currently, [MFE]Med Force Two is in Tau 44 and is getting ready to leave. It is having transponder issues with Crayter facilities so it is docked at a Unione Corse ship. Perhaps you could rendezvous with it in space? Ultimately, I would like to get them to Gran Canaria where they will find a safe haven in my lab. There they will be researched and anti-toxins created. Of course, whatever I can come up with I will share with you. I am also taking your vow about not making these into weapons. No one and I mean no one should have stuff like this. Take it from a man who has had to witness the effects of such things on the human body. Thank you for this info and I'll be letting the commander of Med Force Two know that she has a package coming. A time for the exchange will be arranged over a seperate channel to minimize risk of interception. I will personally oversee the transfer. Minister Victor Delacroix Octavarium Intelligence Commission [ Transmission Ended ] RE: To: Dr. Holiday & Yuma Robotics | From: Octavarium Intelligence Commission - Atreides2 - 05-26-2018 ![]() Greetings Brothers, Sorry for the informal calling but since you are now part of the Republic, we are brothers and sisters. First, allow to introduce myself, I am Richard Dean, 53rd Scientist, Yuma Robotics Researcher. This message came as a CC and I discuss it with my secretary to move any Octavarium messages as important. It seems you have a problem on your hand and need a hand. I am more then happy to assist you. The Crayter Republic managed to create several techniques and methods of cleaning a station of unwanted biological agents and bio-warfare is one of our expertise. We are already on lookout for any possible attack and we developed methods to defend ourselves, and most of this are done by using carefully programmed nanobots. I am sure that we can find a method of cleaning the station and I am afraid I need more details about the station and would need to examine the probes to see how we can adapt Crayterian techniques to assist you. I will take the Galileo and the mobile laboratory aboard and move to Tau 44. Shall we meet in Tau 44, in two days time? I will come with the next Jump available in the Fleet. Kind regards, Richard Dean Athene Squadron ![]() |
