The chain of command for Trader Divison:
Chairman - the president of Universal Shipping. Has access to the flagship and the bank vessel. Handles all diplomatic issues. Manages most applications.
Chief Executive Officer - the vice president of Universal. Has access to the bank vessel and the armory. Has less influence that the chairman, but can stil handle diplomatic issues. Can also manage applications of new members.
Chief Shipping Officer - has access to all ships; coordinates the escorts and the trade routes.
Manager - an upgrade to the recruit. Has access to all transports. Recruit smaller freighters and transport vessels. This is the newbie who will be watched at all times. Has no major role in diplomacy issues.

The chain of command for Escort Division:
Escort Leader - all allowed ships are given to these high ranking pilots, they are the chief escorts
Escort - Allowed to fly fighters, these are low-rank escorts commanded by Escort Leader ranking officers.
Strike Escort - piloting bombers/VHFs, these escorts can carry out tactical raids on smaller pirate groups threathening the traders
Tactical Escort - piloting bomber/fighters, these units are assigned to protect Trenton Outpost and the Armoury as well as the Flagship.

History:
Universal Shipping is one of the Big Three family of Liberty companies that also includes Ageira Technologies and Deep Space Engineering. Universal Shipping made its fortune by gambling on shipping silver from California to Colorado for use in terraforming Los Angeles, long before Jump Gates and Trade Lanes reduced the risk of transporting goods over such long distances. Universal then cemented its reputation as the premiere Liberty shipping company in 181 A.S. by signing a contract to handle all shipping between Ageira Technologies facilities and Deep Space Engineering construction sites.
Universals capabilities also include considerable experience with commercial cargoes. Universals commercial accounts have serviced the Sirius-wide trade of numerous commodities such as: basic alloy, boron, light arms, superconductors, super alloy and most importantly, tradelane parts.
Universal has represented clients in shipping a wide range of cargos throughout the Sirius sector: Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari, Rheinland, even Edge and Border worlds ocasionally.
Universal has the personnel with the proven experience, knowledge, and abilities for handling most types of transportation requirements, be it government and/or commercial.

Base of operations:
Universal so far only has one base, the Trenton Outpost in New York. Our armory and storage vessel can be found there.

After you are recruited, you will be given a loan to buy yourself a vessel (theres 4 possible choices):
Ship cargo space capacity (loan amount)

Whale 4700 (70 million)
Large train 4000 (85 million)
Firefly 3500 (45 million)
Train 3000 (25 million)

Now, since this is a loan, you will must pay off your optional loan 10 million credits per month. Of course, you can pay off the loan early.
Every standard month each employee is to collect and deliver 15 million credits to HeadQuarters. This money is from our customers and pays us for the services we provide. This money translates into bounties, support for new employees, and the upkeep of any long-term escort contracts we have. This might seem a bit harsh, but with the rest of your credits you may do as you wish.
However, if you already have the funds for your own ship, then the loan wont be necessary.
Policy:
- Get as much money as possible
- transport of a variety of goods
- hire escorts to protect us from piracy
- supply food to Crete so we dont have to worry about getting pirated by them
- when you see one, report cardamine smugglers to the authorities (for our benefits also; Outcasts dont get slaves=we are happy)
- go in convoys; one train cant repel pirates. 3 can.
- Piratesif you are being pirated, pay, a few lost credits is less than making you a new ship
- Dont smuggle. If you smuggle, then dont get caught. If you get caught, I will be VERY unhappy.
- Try to be profitable.
- Report what youve accomplished every month (the message dump). Also report piracy if there is any so we can place a bounty on the pirate.
- Inform the local authorities about pirate activity


Now, if you want to be a part of our team, you need to have the following:
- thou must roleplay skilfully (translation: good roleplaying)
- thou shall not be without sense of flying (meaning you should know how to fly at least, fighting skills arent necessary)
- thou must obey thy laws of nature (AKA Server rules)
- thou shall not trespass Chugoku and Hokkaido systems
- thou shall not OOC within system-wide channels
- thou must have thy holy Xfire (required!!!)


Note: we are in NO way connected to the KoF.

Each member of the Corporation is required to have a Escort and a Trader character.

Update:
The Virage should be added to the ship list (it says the origin of the ship is unknown).
Xenos should be added as neutral.
Firefly should be removed.
Raven claw should be removed (Phantom ship).
White Tigers should be added as allied/friendly.
Bretonia weapons should be removed.
Tiger shark should be removed.
Mammoth should be added.

I like this idea. I'm all for having player factions named after game factions, and this is one which would fit in nicely.

Just a few things:
-the firefly is a smuggling ship, might want to take it out
-you have no ranks
->once you have ranks, assign each rank like a ship limit.

Should the Tiger Shark be on there? Unless there's plans to change it, it's said to be built in Rheinland. Not only is there the embargo to consider, but would a large Libertonian company be using a foreign ship?

if your basing this on the universal shipping corp you pretty much done a horrible job with your ship and weapon lists. Your a Libertonian company not bretonian, direct competition with bowex and gateway on the runs to Bretonia! And since BOWEX is nationalised they wont be giving you high level bretonian guns for your forces.

repsheet looks pretty good, escort ranks could be improved but thats my personal flavour

And, while you're taking those crossed out ships off the list, why not add the Mammoth, the Hawk, the Eagle and the Starblazer to your ship list? Perfectly fine ships for a Liberty Corp.

Those issues aside, I like the idea of filling the gaps of the not-yet-played big corporations.

I'd second Slavik on his points on Bretonian weaponry. Bowex managed to obtain military class hardware through a Royal Charter, meaning we had plenty of forum based RP to back the decision up. The government wouldn't just give a civilian corporation that level of tech.

The way we've justified our use is that the military/police gives us weapons training (inRP), we pay taxes to the state (ingame using /Givecash) and escorts using the hardware are obliged to assist BAF forces if help is needed.

I'd recommend you guys set up a similar RP with the Libertonian government (the LN at any rate). Such diplomatic papers give the faction publicity and RP 'weight' which helps bulk the group out.
