Place of Birth: Planet Los Angeles, California system Status: Active Service Member of the 46th Liberty Navy Fleet Personal Bio: Alice grew up in a poor residential area on Los Angeles, her father working a double down the street at an old mechanic shop and her mother worked two jobs to help with putting food on the table. Alice always had dreams of adventuring out into space, but her parents were never very supportive, believing that she wouldn't be able to pursue her dreams due to their financial status. However, Alice was determined and once she graduated High School she would go down to the Liberty Navy Recruiting office and asked for an application. In her mind, the only way to achieve her dream is to enlist. Her parents were against it, knowing that serving in the Navy could result in losing their daughter to war or the criminal element in Liberty. Alice made the choice to serve and she made the best out of it. After years of training in the secondary fleet LibNav had decided it was time she took command of her very own battle group and assigned her to the L.N.S. Vermont where her training would continue on. ----------------------------------------- [End of File] RE: Commodore Alice Shepard and Battleship Vermont Biography - Kalhmera - 04-05-2020 [ACCESSING DATABASE]

Status: Active Duty Ship Bio: Shortly after its creation The Vermont was put in immediate service and assigned its command team and crew. The Southern Border was Liberty's main concern and for the first half of her life The Battleship Vermont stood guard in the Texas system performing all manner of duties one would expect. From Traffic control, Law Enforcement and when the time came fending off the Rheinland Invaders you can say the Vermont has seen it all. Once the Gallic war kicked off Naval Admiralty moved the Vermont to New London and aided the Bretonian Armed Forces against the Tyrant King. As the war raged on the Vermont had pretty visible battle scars and it was apparent that a much needed visit to a dry dock in Liberty would be beneficial. Sadly that order came to late and an attack on New London later known as "The Battle For New London" took place and the Vermont was critically Injured. Captained by Alice Shepard, she gave the order for full retreat and by a miracle was able to make it to safety. This event put the Vermont out of service for the rest of the war and it is only now that repairs have been completed and it will make its way back into active service. After the repairs were made on Juneau Shipyard LIBNAV decided to have the Vermont as a test bed for experimental armor that is being developed on Juneau Shipyard. This armor is so classified that not even Captain Shepard herself knows the exact properties of it. Though it is heavily implied that it would take a considerable amount of force to crack this new wave of technology. The Vermont since the Gallic war has been seen within Bering serving side by side with the Concord clearing out Battlegroup Harmony's foothold within the system. Reports show a successful scouring of Bering and Marshall Station the Headquarters of Battlegroup Harmony was destroyed. Though a good portion of Harmony's Fleet as made a successful getaway by striking Willard Station and creating a diversion this wont be the last time we see them. Dedicated to irradiating Harmony from the Republic. The Battleship Vermont has been seen within the Kansas and Vespucci systems clearing out the newly combined Hellfire Legion and Battlegroup Harmony dubbed Liberty Insurgency. With the unfortunate Demise of the Battleship Delaware, Carrier Ohio and Vermont has been seen pushing further into Vespucci the Insurgency Home System. With the Insurgency in its final days the Vermont has been seen within the Omicron Nu system though its mission is not yet certain. ----------------------------------------- Vermont Basic Deck Assignments & Blueprints Deck One, Bridge and Arms Room: Responsible for holding the command staff of the Vermont, the Bridge is the brains of the Ship. Responsible for holding weapons incase of enemy boarding the arms room has a collection of advanced weaponry to make any boarder regret their decision. Deck Two, Living Quarters: Comfortable living quarters were made due to the Vermont's extended period of time without making port. It is customized to have a recreation area, video games and multiple secure access points for the Neural Net so Crewmates can speak to their family members. Chow hall is also located on this deck. Deck Three: Engineering and Maintenance: Should the Vermont ever be in need of repairs without access to a port it has all it needs to restore limited functionality and basic power to get her back to a port. Deck Four Hangars: This area is where Echo and Delta squadron is located along with its crew. Both squads lives comfortably in the hangar deck incase of an emergency that requires Fighter Pilots in space quickly. The Hangar Deck also has everything Engineers would need to make repairs. Deck Five, Prisoner and Cargo Storage: In the unlikely case prisoners of war or other criminals are caught this is the area they would be sent to. Micro Shielding much like those used on Fighter-crafts are used to secure prisoners to give them no chance of escaping. Food storage is also stored towards the stern of the ship as its more armored and has a higher chance to withstand damage. Red flashing lights fill the decks of the Vermont. A familiar sight to those who have served on this warship during the Gallic War. Fresh recruits seemingly paused in their tracks as their training is fresh in their minds and just kicking in. You can hear the Veteran crew members yelling Battle Stations! Move! Move! Move! Recruits snapped out of their trance and rushed to their assigned posts. Meanwhile on the bridge a different type of energy is present. Patience and strategy can be heard as Captain Shepard goes over the battle plan with the Concord's Admiral. It was at this moment Captain Shepard realized the exercise that was supposed to be routine in Texas was anything but. An information blackout was present and it was just lifted. Their real focus was to invade bering and take out Battle group Harmony and their Legion allies.its unfortunate we were left in the dark Shepard mumbled to herself as she began to inform the bridge of the real mission at hand.Listen up folks, this is not a routine training mission. We are heading straight into bering and going to take out Marshall Station, home of Battle group Harmony. A slight moment of silence was present in the air. The Bridge was surprised yet calm, Focused yet patient. When are we going to give em hell Cap? one of the crew members said aloud. Easy now boys, we go when Fleet Admiral Cleveland gives the word, but we are to accompany the Concord and give her all the support we can clear? She said confidently Aye Aye Ma'am! The Bridge sounded off in unison and clarity. Admiralty finally gave the word to make the charge into Bering and the Vermont was tasked with sticking to the Concord like hot glue. All Decks this is the Captain speaking, Our focus is to support the Concord in anyway possible. We cover her ass and she will cover ours. General Quarters mode is now active get to your stations we are moving out! she said confidently. Men and women across the Vermont can be seen sprinting across various locations across the ship. Moving crucial items, manning the turrets, some getting into their snub crafts awaiting the word when its time to engage the sleeping monster that awaits in Bering. As elements of the Concord Fleet enters Bering the Vermont's Bridge radio comms pick up the radio traffic of the friendly forces in Bering. Direct conflict was immediate as Naval forces flooded Bering. The Vermont was the first Overlord to jump into Bering and Intense fighting ensued. Full Power to shields! Shepard said aloud as the Vermont's Projectile warning system (PWS) picked up a squadron of bomber wings letting loose their salvos of Novas directly at the Vermont! Flak those Novas, Fighter Squadron Echo engage those Bombers and get them off our ass Now! She said quickly. This is Echo Squadron Leader we read you Cap, laying down the hate. Nova Torpedoes slapped the shields of the Vermont and Echo Squadron was able to intercept the remaining Nova torpedoes and detonate them before impact. Echo Squadron was fully engaged. Soon after Archer's were seen forming up with the Vermont as they cleared a path for the Concord. Task Force Alpha, take your Archers and flank far left, Delta, Your archers flank far right. Bravo Your Battlecruiser stick near the Concord! We push as a unit! Captain Shepard was occupied on multiple fronts as Legion, Harmony and Xeno Bomber Wings began to increase in numbers as they slowly approached Marshall Station. Hard pressed to find a solution to the growing bomber problem Naval Admiralty deemed it neccassary to take out the Freeport as it was to much of a risk to allow a surprise attack from our rear flank. The Freeport was left in ruin and the crew of the Vermont watched in awe and horror as the Concord showed no mercy and as the smoke settled the area was still and silent. The final push towards Marshall Station proved to be interesting as Harmony, and Legion Capital Ships came on scanners. Alpha Squadron start bombing runs on that Legion Osiris identified as Incursus! she said quickly as Shepard knew this fight was going to get rough. The Vermont continued its push to Marshall station with the Concord not far behind and as things started to go well for the Vermont an unexpeted turn of events forces the Vermont to change tactics. An Unknown Energy Signature began to sound! We have a cloaked vessel near our AO! Task Force Bravo Protect the Concord! As the Concord moved closer it began to fire on the Incursus not knowing of the unknown energy signature that was present near the Vermont. As a fire from the Concord was barreling down at the Incrusus The Osiris Amenhotep came out of cloak and took the full force of the blast! Effectivly shielding the Incursus who was already dealing with other hostile forces on the battlefield. its that damn Ex-Commodore Kalh! All Hands FIRE! The Vermont spooled up its primaries and engaged the Amenhotep with all its might. However The Vermont was forced to return to the Concord as it had over extended and was out of range of support from the Concord's Fleet! Pull Back Lieutenant! We cant let them bait us away from Marshall, we have a job to do! She said disappointingly. The Concord finally made it to Marshall Station and the Concord's Admiral gave the order to start its attack on Marshall Station. Surprisingly tough to take down Marshall was heavily fortified and it was going to take some time as the attack went on. It was this time that Harmony and Legion forces made their escape to the California System and attacked Willard Station in an attempt to throw the Liberty Navy off their game. In the end, Marshall was destroyed and the Vermont lived to see another day. RE: Commodore Alice Shepard and Battleship Vermont Biography - Kalhmera - 07-13-2020 [ACCESSING DATABASE]

While the Vermont is being slated for the Experimental Armor on Juneau Shipyard Alice was able to weasel her way around the Engineering Department and slate the Vermont to be the test bed for the experimental Weapons as well. "All or nothing" she often said. The Ion Blasters are Power Core Cripplers and against de-shielded targets sends a wave of across the entire ship draining its energy source. The amount drained depends on the output of the vessel. It is not advised to use these weapons on shielded targets as its virtually useless. Alice Shepard Captain Liberty Navy RE: L.N.S. The "Sledge" turret is one hell of a weapon. Increased hull damage at the cost of energy and range make this weapon very deadly up close. Coupled with the experimental armor the Vermont is slated to receive in the near future this will allow for brutal front line combat. With the ability to withstand damage and be able to dish it out will make any foe think twice before acting when the Vermont is on the battlefield. Alice Shepard Captain Liberty Navy RE: L.N.S. The EMP Flak is the newest in projectile defense and ani-snubcraft defense. Laced with EMP charges this Flak can take down enemy snubcraft shields and deflect incoming projectiles. Due to the nature of this weapon it is also less prone to wear and tear but should the weapon be damaged in combat it is incredibly expensive to fix. Alice Shepard Captain Liberty Navy RE: Captain Alice Shepard and Battleship Vermont Biography - Kalhmera - 07-29-2020 Naval Dreadnought Vermont and The Battle For New London
These are the events of the last battle the Vermont took part of. What is widely known as the Battle For New London. A gruesome and bloody battle that left hundreds wounded and thousands dead. It was the actions of Captain Alice Shepard that saved her crew and saved countless other ships in the process. This is their story. It was the last day the Vermont would see combat in what was widely recognized as the Battle For New London. Gallic forces advanced on Planet New London and there was a moment in Shepard's eye that almost made it seem like everything was playing in slow motion. The bridge personnel was scattering getting ready for the coming assault. Radio traffic from the Ottawa and Gettysburg blaring and Shepard took this moment to get her mind leveled she found peace in the chaos. She took deep breaths and remembered what she was fighting for and the thousands of people that relied on her to make the right decisions and the Billions of Bretonian and Libertonian people that watched in horror fearing for their lives. Red Alert The Proximity alarmed tripped! Alice snapped out of her trance and put her game face on. Alright men listen up! The Bridge stood still as Shepard turned on the intercom. I want everyone to stop what they are doing and listen to my voice. We have fought these invaders before and we will do it again. They are throwing everything they have at us and we must hold the line. Your families, friends, Loved ones, brothers, Sisters, and your brothers in arms are all counting on you! I am counting on you. This is the day we have been waiting for. The day you have been training for. It is this moment that will define the outcome of this war. If you have any doubt you must clear it from your mind. Focus on what is in front of you and follow my commands. I cant say I will bring everyone home alive that would be a lie. What I can tell you is that I will be the first to charge us into battle and I will be the last one to leave it. For Liberty. The crew cheered and focus and determination filled their hearts and souls. The battle is about to begin. The Vermont, Gettysburg, Ottawa and countless other Liberty Naval Ships and Bretonian Armed Forces ship formed a defensive line preparing for the coming assault. It was the biggest formation the Vermont had been apart of and countless Fighter and Bomber crafts filled the gap between the allied warships. Echo Squadron your job is to intercept any bomber wings focusing the Vermont, force them to retreat or turn them to ash! Delta Squad your on mop up duty fry everything in our AO. Unfortunately the Vermont was in desperate need of a refit but the assault came to soon and Alice was working with what she had. Relying on her experience and the confidence in her crew. Prepare for combat! Alice shouted! Full power to forward shields The battle has begun! Explosions rained all around the Vermont and intense fighting had begun. Shepard was trying to keep enemy forces from out flanking her position but it was incredibly difficult. Ottawa and Gettysburg was focusing on their own problems and Bretonia was trying to hold their position as well. Mortars, Missiles and all manner of other deadly projectiles filled the area almost like a deadly cloud. Every single fighter, Bomber, Cruiser, Gunboat and Battleship on the allied side was locked in combat and it was not looking good. Allied forces had to keep them from breaching the planet but unfortunately was not able to do so. Enemy forces puched a hole through the blockade and the Gettysburg was destroyed. Combat had spilled in the atmosphere of Planet New London and the fighting continued out in space. DIRECT HIT! Shepard said aloud. She was able to disable a Gallic Valor before the Vermont suffered critical damage. The Vermont had suffered multiple hull breaches and lost decks to the vacuum of space. Realizing there is nothing more the Vermont can do she ordered the full retreat but it was not as easy as just turning around and running. The Vermont had lost primary thrusters an was only operating on auxiliary thrusters. Alice had an idea that would prove to be the saving grace of the Vermont and its personnel. She was able to have echo squadron link up thick wires to the hull of the Vermont and with the help of allied forces was able to tow the Vermont away from the battle while the Vermont was firing on enemy forces. Much like a solider on the battlefield dragging a wounded brother or sister and they continue to return fire. Once the Vermont was in a safe location she ordered the remaining Echo squadron back on board to aid with casualties and minimal repairs. Later Ottawa reported victory and was able to send repair ships and personnel to the Vermont and patched her up just enough to make it back to Juneau Shipyard. The Vermont would be out of commission for Operation Dunkirk where the unfortunate demise came upon the Ottawa which later led to the Glassing of Leeds where an estimated one billion people where murdered by the Gallic Royal Navy. The Planet was left in ruin and any Gallic royal Navy ship that did not surrender was destroyed. After the war concluded Captain Shepard was later recognized for her valiant efforts on the battlefield and saving her crew. She was given the Gallic War Victory Medal, and the Bretonia Expeditonary Medal. RE: L.N.S. With technology ever changing within the Liberty Navy it was noticed that the Vermont was lacking the ability to allow friendly warships to lock on to its coordinates to complete their jump sequence. With funds granted by The Admiralty Shepard was able to source a Hyperspace Matrix from Bowex Corporation. The hefty price tag of Four Hundred and Fifty Million credits was cleared by the treasury and now the Vermont sits in Norfolk as it is now being installed. While the Vermont may be one of the oldest serving Battleships within the 46th she is still just as versatile as the day she was commissioned. Alice Shepard Captain Liberty Navy 46th Fleet |
