The Story or Rorschach - Rorschach - 02-11-2009 The Story starts in New York, 1985. Possibly an alternate reality. Dr. Manhattan, a morphed super human, drastically changes the course of history, changing the outcomes of things like The Vietnam War, and the presidency of Richard Nixon. The presence of Dr. Manhattan gives the U.S. a dramatic advantage over all other countries, and tensions between the U.S. and the Soviet Union are increasing. Rorschach is a former hero. While his methods for crime busting may have been controversial, he believed in protecting the innocent and saw Good and Evil in simple black and white. Good were the protectors, and evil deserved to be punished for their wrong doings. The story is set into motion when former hero Edward Blake, also known as The Comedian, is murdered. Rorschach, with the help of other Watchmen, Dr. Manhattan, Night Owl, and Silk Spectre investigate the matter. Their investigation eventually leads them to a man they used to work with, Adrian Veidt. Veight tells them his plan. He is going to unleash an alien monster on New York, killing hundreds. His hopes are that the fake alien theat persuades the USA and USSR to forget their hostilities and unite against a common foe. As he explains this, the Watchmen learn that the plan has already been put into motion. The Watchmen are furious. However, after a while, they learn that Adrian's plan is working. The immenate threat of Nuclear War is over and both countries are stopping hostilities. Manhattan, Silk Spectre, and Night Owl all agree not to tell anyone about Veight's plan, knowing in the long run it will save lives. Rorschach refuses to accept this idea. He storms out of Veight's base intent on revealing the truth. As he leaves, he is confronted by Dr. Manhattan. Manhattan says that he will have to kill him if he will not stop. Rorschach refuses and gets vaporized by him. .........................................or so we think Rorschach experiences a giant flash or light. He gets knocked out cold. He wakes up on top of the landing platform on Planet Manhattan. Rorschach realizes that he was teleported, possibly not just by location, but through time, possibly even to another reality. Rorschach finds what living he can on Planet Manhattan. He spends 10 years learning how to fly ships and how to live in this strange new world. Rorschach still fights for good using whatever methods necessary. And while his methods of enforcment have changed, his still holds on to his belief system.
