The Collective - Secundus Logistics Uplink Tether - The Collective - 07-31-2018 Secundus Logistics Uplink Tether
As always, Outpost Secundus was slowly circled by multiple drones, when the routine the structure was experiencing recently was disturbed. A large number of bulky objects slowly appeared from behind Planet Morus from the direction of the Delta hole, heading for the outpost. The objects were carried by drones and differed quite vastly in terms of their looks. Some were mostly rock-like, others looked like they had some organic parts inside of them that poked out through the outer shell. Other parts seemed mostly mechanic and freshly assembled. The carrier drones quickly assembled the individual parts and re-purposed some of the scraps from the wrecked station parts to secure the structural integrity of the curious object. From the midst of the station wreck a Collective hub emerged and slowly drifted over to the object that was now floating next to the station. The cruiser finally connected to an indentation on one side of the structure, almost gingerly docking with it, causing the whole object to illuminate its surroundings with green light. The connection was established and the outpost had begun the process of reactivation. The drones had already arrived here several days prior in order to make the preparations and ensure the outpost hadn’t been claimed by brigands, outlaws, or some other forsaken entity. As expected it remained lifeless and devoid of air, in a state almost beyond repair. The cruiser underwent a change upon its connection with the derelict station, unraveling and unwrapping it’s insides enveloping the side of the depot. It would be rather clear to any onlookers that this was not the standard AI cruiser they had come to fear. This specialist design was one of The Collective. One of The Ravine overseers. On the inside of the structure the cruiser that started transforming integrated itself into the already existing systems that were used to control the station before it was abandoned. It integrated what was left of the electronics into what would become the main core of Secundus. The drones swiftly went to work on tearing apart every bit and piece that was not needed anymore, before separating materials worth recycling from the ones that were not. While the units on the outside of the structure started to assemble some of the longer objects to something that vaguely looked like a mixture between an antenna and solar panels, good progress was being made on the inside as well. Structural walls were reinforced and re-shaped, vital sections of the station were armored and connection points for future extensions were prepared. Finally the connection to the antenna was formed and power started flowing throughout the structure, indicated by the glowing green grid that partially spanned the outer shell of the station. -- Secundus station online -- <Overseer Status: Initiating Variable Unit Link: Vagrant Application> <Overseer Status: Construction Projects Pending> <Overseer Status: Logistics Processing Priority Raised> <Overseer Status: Secundus Restoration/Upgrades In Progress> |
