Discovery
Soon after discovering the outpost in Orkney, one of my lesser drones has managed to stumble upon another derelict in Baffin.
TAZ have already been informed about its existence and I am currently preparing to jump to Baffin and meet with Mad John Rackham.
From past discoveries it seems that most of these bases are in rather good condition. With a bit of luck, these might prove to be a good option for finally setting up shop in a safe system.

Arrival
Several hours later we arrive at the Skyhook in Baffin.
The Unity started resupplying with fuel and performing some quick maintenance on the jumpdrive. It seems we might have pushed a bit too much in past weeks. Miss Snow did mention that the improvements might cause something like this. Nevertheless, without those alterations Unity would not nave been able to move so quickly and cover such large distances.
Well, since I am here, I should just go and grab something to drink and eat. Heard they have some rather interesting liquor around here.

Investigation
Since we are relatively close to the drone, the signal strength is finally decent enough to get something that is actually useful.
The scans are still affected by cosmic radiation interference, but by accessing one of the Skyhook's receiver antennas we are getting almost perfect quality signal.
Now then, until Mr. Rackham's arrival, let's see what we can make out of these new scans...

Meeting above Eris
After couple of hours I met with John outside the SkyHook.
On our way to the location of the derelict, we did have an interesting discussion about their religion. They seem to be an interesting bunch of people. Among other things, probably the most important thing was the discussion about the scrubbiest and the bacteria they are harvesting.
I always was interesting in studying the a bit closer, maybe they could be use to boost plants'resistance to diseases and/or maybe make them better withstand harsh weather conditions.
Forty minutes later we arrive at the base. From what I could see out the window it seems the outside of the base looks very promising, there are no signs or any damage.

Investigation
Welp, good news and bad news, as always:- Structural intergrity - 90% - not bad for a derelict.
- Power-supply - needs to be replaced, but the distribution systems are fully functional.
- Life-support - seems ok, but we won't know until we finally power it up.
- Atmosphere - pressure is optimal, but we should maybe we it should be filtered first. You never know...
- Orbit - stable, but we might have to replace some energy field stabilizers.
Once everything is fixed, we should have access the control systems. That is when the real fun can start.

Foundation
After spending some time discussing the details about the my endeavor, I got the blessing from the TAZ to start working on it.
As much as I would like to do his on my own, since, well, if you want a job to be done in the best way, you do it with our own hands; I will need to contact all the people that might be interested in helping. Between people that I know/helped and the ones who would be more than willing to help... for the right price, I am fairly sure we can do this.
Well then.... time to send some messages:
Right then, now it's time for the fun part; putting together the budget. Welp, you know what, maybe to tomorrow.
Log end.
