miner ID - NoMe - 08-22-2018
hi all
with an ore miner colleague, we tried to mine in a group, but filling each other's cargo ship doesn't work!
is this a generic miner id restriction?

I don't have found the answer on the miner ID
to fill up his ship, 0 problem it works but to fill another ship? it's the real question!

So there is no restriction on generic Mining ID according to this. It is just slower than molasses during winter to fill a transport or freighter.
Click on char you wish to fill. if char is within range then 2 ship icons with 2 arrows between them should show left of Power/Shield/Hull health bar. Click on it and it should start filling your target ship while you are mining ( as long as your ship is full first) unless your invite was rejected by target ship. The only thing I have not tried is filling another ship while still grouped with 2nd ship that is not full. Maybe that is the problem.

The distance between Miner and Transport has to be 800 m or less, so that the ore goes into the transport

It might help to have a little more information on exactly what you're doing, NoMe. Which ID is your friend using (I'm assuming generic Miner ID)? Which ship? Are they using mining lasers? What ore are you mining? Is your friend the only one having the problem, or are you experiencing the same issue?
And despite what OGG says, the miner does not have to be full before they can start filling a targeted transport, nor do both individuals need to be in a group. As long as you're in range of each other and your mining ship is set up properly, the ore should be going into the targeted ship's hold. If that's not happening, my first assumption is that your friend has something wrong with his ship/ID/laser setup.

if i remember we was enought close, we have tried in group and not, we have also tried it to see if the rate could be better
normally all things was good to mine, if i remember i have verified all
him, me selected only his ship was filled and vice/versa
without success, strange
PS: maybe the ships was not 2 specialised mining ship

Shouldn't be a problem at all.
It is not necessary that the target is a miner or a specialized ship. It should work with ANY target ship.
I myself have filled up transports. The things depending are if you yourself can mine any ore. Having a proper mining ship, ID, mining lasers (properly setup) and IFF, as alread mentioned. If you recieve any ore while mining then you should be able to fill other ships.
Target the other ship, be as close as possible and keep the ship targeted. Then blast the rocks with your mining lasers. That should fill your friend up. It is not necessary that your cargo is full.
If this doesn't work, then there is something seriously wrong. Then maybe somebody from the developers have any idea.

in all case if i find a new generic miner, we will try it again.
i perfectly know how work the mining generally, i'm also a miner
it is probably a specific restriction non included in the id definition

is IFF of miner was not red to IFF of trader? There for example not work formation for ships which hostile by IFF, maybe it is was your problem.
Forget this, we definitely sure mined stuff in IFF red ships...hm.
