Huge FPS Drops and unplayable game. [PLEASE HELP] - Shaggy - 09-23-2018
Afternoon/Morning community,
As some of you may be aware i've been suffering with really bad mouse FPS issues, not 100% sure what it is that is causing it but it is making it very difficult for me to actually play disco.
My OS and my PC components are as follows.
OS - Windows 10
AMD Eight Core Processor
32 GB RAM
NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
I've tried everything in my power and knowledge to fix the issue and i've asked for months on how to fix it, can someone please help me.

I suggest making sure the Nvidia GForce Experience overlay is disabled while playing Freelancer. Nvidia overlay caused me a lot of FL issues in the past.

Hi guys, does anyone know if it is possibly to add Freelancer to Nvidia Expierence and if so how? because i've tried scanning for it and it's a no show
Also I am receiving lag ingame and huge FPS drops, i've tried everything in my power and my knowledge to fix this and it is still not working. I've even tried to reinstall Windows 10, Discovery, there are no mods installed, updated drivers are done, DirectPlay and NET Framewire (I think it's called) are active, what other options are there

No, you can't add games to GeForce Experience because that's only a tool for downloading and enabling presets made by NVidia, and they did not make one for Freelancer for obvious reasons. If you want to manually change graphics settings for .exe's you need to open the NVidia Control Panel, go to the "Manage 3D Settings" menu and add Discovery's Freelancer.exe there.

I recall having a similar problem like this, but it pretty much solved itself over time. @Ramke had the same/similar problem detailed in this thread. Maybe downgrading the driver could help, otherwise I got nothing, sorry.

Is discovery the only 3D game you experience this with? Open your PC and check if your graphics card cooler fan is really working. Mine sometimes gets stuck and thats when FPS goes down. Happens with several games though, not just discovery. Nudging the fan so it starts helps for me.

Reinstall your drivers without the Nvidia 3D Vision component. It interferes with Freelancer and forces the card into a low power state semi-regularly while playing.

Just uninstalled the Nvidia 3D Vision components, so going to give it ago.

I've tried to uninstall Nvidia 3d Vison Components, it seems to be working at the moment but still when I am docked on bases i only get 20 FPS and my game slows right now, it's so annoying why can't I just play disco without any issues.
