Un/Hackable things (clarification?) - StDH - 10-04-2018

There was a talk about Trade Lane parts reverse-engineering on Discord, disco-admin came in and said it's not possible because it's unhackable and has self-destruction mechanism, apparently. Therefore i asked about why do we have Nomad cloaks/guns/powercells replicas. The answer was that you can grow them in lab.

Well, if we can grow a snub weaponry, why don't we grow BS guns and after some time an entire Ish'Tar? Because it would be stopped until someone tickles the right parts, i guess. So, Nomad technology which is far more advanced than human's, literally by millions of years (Daam'K'Vosh) can be reverse-engineered but not trade-lane-parts which were made by humans.

---

Later someone mentioned Gallia, Oh yes! So where does Gallia have trade-lane parts from? EFL, and EFL? Supposedly retconning Junkers stealing it from Valhalla 1.

"the physics involved are so Alien you need Daam K'Vosh tech to make it work." - But we can make Nomad things work, so what's the problem? Let's grow Sascyas and mass-produce trade lane parts then.

---

Devs probably have a reason for this, but you can't deny the loop we got ourselves into.

I'd even give you link to the entire chat-log, but that guy didn't refrain from swearing.

I'm not a Disco knowledge god, and there're certainly people who know much more. But i'd like people who actually know something to explain and clarify what is actually going on. Anything of value is appreciated ^^. Please, keep it civil. If you're here just to post something not of any value to the topic, just leave.

Jump Gate and Trade Lanes were created out of alien technology.

Yes, Valhalla 1. Be of more use next time please.

Your exaggerated ramblings make it hard to understand what nonsense you are spitting out.

What is it exactly you are asking here?

If you'd grow a nomad shell, chances are the multidimensional being that the Nomads are would either ignore it - making the shell lifeless and thus useless - or simply take over without any possibility for humans to control it. The ships themselves are not sentient. They are piloted by a non-physical entity that leaves the ship upon destruction. It is, because of this, immortal as long as the connection to the Mindshare remains. People who know about this inRP are most likely seeing no reason to oppose the Nomads anymore, since there is no way mankind can eliminate the non-physical aspect of the nomads.

Yes, unless you destroy the mindshare/hive.

But we still have Adopted nomad guns here.

EDIT: And IRG Cloaks/Powercells

Destroying the mindshare's physical aspects wouldn't destroy it entirely, though.

The Adapted Weaponry is something very different to warforms. They simply copy the way nomads use energy to cause a similar effect.

Wait, we "grow" guns in labs since when?

RE: Un/Hackable things (clarification?) - Lythrilux - 10-04-2018

Adapted Nomad guns are like replicas, rather than direct clones.

Adapted Nomad guns are to normal Nomad guns as quorn is to meat.

But is there anything limiting us from assembling BS class guns?

Small MightToday at 6:26 PM
Like, it's literally a bio-organic weapon, you could grow it in a lab
