● Comissioned: 825 A.S
● 1st i.C.: Adrian Wosen
● Affiliation: Crayter Military
● Strike-Group: To be assigned

Information

The Uranus was commissioned in 825 A.S as one of the newer Mk.III Argus Class-Battlecruisers. It was designed and built on Sabah Shipyard within the Coronado-System, Sirius Sector. The building process of the ship took several months until it reached the status of being able to be used in actual combat.

Besides very few issues regarding the shipments of the required materials due to piracy, the construction stage of the ship went flawlessly and only barely surpassed the given time-limit. The Uranus is one of the very few ships within the fleet that uses equipment beyond the usual weaponry as well as the installed equipment such as a Jump-Drive to successfully and effectively enter critical points of a conflict-zone or to be able to assist allied vessels within a short amount of time.

Due to the equipment that has been installed onboard, namely the Jump-Drive as well as the so-called Breaker Battlecruiser-Class Turrets, the Uranus has to yet be assigned to any of the strike-groups that are currently operating under the Craytan Military.

The majority of the equipment that has been installed on the Uranus (Mk.III Argus Class-Battlecruiser) is similar to its sister ships. Developed and built by the Colonial Republic, those weapons are optimized and adapted to be used to their fullest potential on the Mk.III Argus-Classes, with the Uranus making no exception. Unlike her sisters, however, the Uranus does not use the standard Sirian equipment on her heavily supplied hardpoints, instead of that, the Uranus is using Breaker Battlecruiser-Class Turrets, whose origin is yet to be discovered as well as their effectiveness in actual combat. Tests indicate that their effective range is above the standard Crayter Battlecruiser-Class Primary Turret, yet it lacks the range of the comparable Battlecruiser Mortar Turret.
This is the current list (as of 11/03/825 A.S) of the equipment mounted and used on the Uranus:
  • 2x Breaker Battlecruiser-Class Turret
  • 4x Crayter Battlecruiser-Class Primary Turret
  • 6x Crayter Battlecruiser-Class Secondary Turret
  • 2x Battlecruiser-Class Flak Turret

Installments

A Mk.III Argus-Class Battlecruiser
As mentioned before, the Uranus does not only have the Breaker Battlecruiser-Class Turret, but additionally has a Jump Drive installed which differentiates it even more from its sister ships. Alongside the Jump Drive, which already has been tested on other Vessels within the fleet, the Uranus has a standard Battleship-Class scanning device installed on it, making it an amazing ship to get a grasp of the surroundings in unknown space, as it is much more nimble than the Mk.II Zephyr Class-Carrier or the Deimos Class-Dreadnought. The Mk.III Argus Class-Battlecruiser also has several docking-bays for smaller craft to escort it, as well as enough cargo space to ensure smooth operation without the need to resupply for a few weeks if completely decked out on it.
Visually, the Uranus is not looking any different from its sisters and has to yet show that it was worth to invest the time, hope and resources that have been put into it during the planning and construction stages.
