Life began there, at Liberty,
John Holdan, born to Richard and Emily Holdan, was an energetic child that contained curiousity towards technological devices and non-native Technologies. As he grew up however, his parents pushed him more into Military matters and courses, as they were a proud family whom each served in Liberty military at some point in various ranks. Just after he finished his required education at Age 16, his parents sent him straight to West Point Academy...
Early Military life
As a junior cadet, he had to work even harder than his peers and prove himself that he was not some weakling child. Even though he was overally successful, there were several complications and incidents during his training career. However his overall performance made the instructors overlook his flaws and he graduated the second he hit age 18. Strangely, LSF was interested in him and for some reason they opened their doors to the young graduate. As he was inducted into LSF, he had somewhat special training. Particularly in the area of Technologies used by foreign Powers and how to reverse engineer them in an improvised way.
LSF Days...and Nights.
Holdan did not carry glorious operations within LSF. He have done dirty work most times. Like tending snubcraft of LSF and assisting maintenance of various installations. While he had fighter training, he did not get to put it to Show most times. Only in compulsory training sessions held by LSF operatives. Some rumors among dark halls of LSF bases told that he was in love with an Outcast, never confirmed, thus never charged with treason… In any case, his fate was different than fixing snubcraft in dark corners…
War.
The Liberty-Rheinland war...Took many lives and changed many careers. Some in good ways, some in bad ways. Holdan's change was interesting. From shipyards and outposts, suddenly he was at the helm of a Guardian blasting Rheinland ships. He joined numerous operations under Navy's command, survived some by skill and some by pure luck. However, his mind was at Gallic conflict mostly. To John, they posed greater threat and rheinland was simply a setback in the way. In any case, he put his feelings behind his job and served dutifully until the rheinland war ended.
Love and betrayal.
During rheinland war, he indeed was in love with an Outcast smuggler that he found inside Texas system while he was off-duty. He sometimes allowed him to go on her way, sometimes apprehended her into unknown corners of Texas and had romantic moments. Which also caused him to be afflicted with Cardamine, however.
After some months, near the end of war, he was betrayed by the Outcast, as she was only bluffing with him to get precious information and corrput his mind and soul, with Cardamine…
A new beginning amongst Crayter.
After the rheinland war ended, he packed his things up, grabbed some cardamine from a vessel he confisticated and made way to Barrier Gate Station in Coronado. He could not stay within Liberty anymore, as Cardamine was strictly banned and he could not live without it. He took odd jobs from Crayter for a while, until he decided to fully commit himself to Crayter.
He enlisted to Crayter Military and piloted a Nyx for some long time. Climbed the ranks after numerous operations and finally reached Major, given a squadron under his command and prestige among Crayter's populace. He saw his men die in ruthless ways to various enemies of Crayter, including aliens. At the same time however, old curiousity of strange Technologies and learning them came back to his mind. He searched ways to integrate Technologies to his vessel, however Admirality was strict on incorporating non-Crayter technology at that time. Thus, he had his "ins and outs" with Admirality.
In one operation against Gallia, he and his squadron got decimated by the superior technology of Gallia and because of that, he had enough with the purist ways of Admirality. He voiced his concerns and debates ensued. However due to Admirality's stubbornness, Holdan was exiled from Crayter by the time's Fleet Admiral Michael Richard. Ever since then, he has his everlasting hate of Crayter and its ways…
New horizons.
As he was exiled and his cardamine Access was practically göne, he had to resort at working for Outcasts and Lane Hackers, in Exchange of Money and Cardamine to sustain his life.
During that time, he got a message from an unknown destination, convincing him that he could be a better man. Holdan, understanding that as possibility of curing his Cardamine addiction, tried to follow the source of the message. However, it failed countless times. He thought he needed to align himself with a faction and persasuade them to use their resources. Thus, he tried his luck with the Council first.
Inside enemy's heart.
Within Council, he was given an Agama Heavy Fighter and placed under a squadron, sent to expedition missions and patrolled Council space mostly. Meanwhile trying to search the source of the transmission he received, he scavenged wrecks and requested more distant missions from command. However, it turned out his goals did not align with the Council's.
Working for the enemy.
Unfortunately, he left Council, as he did not have much Access to Cardamine and he was frown upon by the command. He based himself of Tau-29, Cali base, most times, doing mercenary work and acquiring Cardamine mostly. His addiction and hunger raised over time and at some point, he was almost like a soulless, cardamine-consuming machine. Working and living for the Orange Gift as he called at this point. To bluff the Outcasts that he actually liked consuming it. However it was quite the opposite, he hated every moment of his life due to his addiction and craved for a cure, knowing there was no cure nonetheless.
Today's Holdan.
He currently bases himself around Taus, mostly Freeport 6, to not cut himself off from lawful entities as well as unlawful parties. He tries to acquire Cardamine but also found that Stabiline can "top off" him for some time, although not as much as Cardamine. He has to periodically inject himself, rather than sniffing now, but he also experiences superior reflexes and "enlightment" as Outcasts called it. He cannot stay as a Freelancer forever however, he has to align himself with people. Even if they are aliens or something, he has to do that, no matter the cost.
