I come before you today not only as an Agent of Her Majesty's Secret Service, but as the daughter of former Prime Minister and current member of the House of Lords, Lord George Mountbatten, Duke of Westminster. It is my understanding that the recent redeployment of the Stirling Battlegroup to Omega-49 has caused some concern amongst your organisations, as well as others with interests in the system. Some have declared it the start of an invasion and decided that Her Majesty's Armed Forces mean to take the planet from its rightful owners. Please accept my assurance that this is not the case.

The HMS Stirling is not there to invade Gran Canaria, nor is it the Crown's intention to annex the Omega-49 system. As I'm sure you've noticed, we're currently engaged in defensive operations in orbit of our capital world against the Gallic Royal Navy. The idea that we would be engaged in offensive operations in non-critical areas while our core system is threatened is simply ludicrous. The Stirling Battlegroup has been redeployed to Omega-49 system for the sole purpose of protecting supply lines to the Port Jackson colony, and to safeguard evacuation transports should it become necessary to begin evacuating civilians from New London.

You may rest easy. Her Majesty's government will continue to abide by the treaties it has signed, such as the Port Jackson Accords, and we will continue to respect the autonomy of the Zoner people and their claim on Gran Canaria. Please, do not allow diplomacy ten years in the making to be discarded over one mis-understood action.
