Establishing Feed
The APM Research & Development division, under Overseer Damien Mekal, is placing an order for the requisition of an AP-430 "Thresher" class escort destroyer from Alabama Shipyards. Requisition has been pre-emptively approved by Jack Daniels, in the interests of continuing project "Ballista". His approval will be further signed below.
The vessel, which will be designated Core|APM-Leonine, will be retrofitted with an Azurite plasma conduit system and reactor, powered by an IRG power cell, in the same fashion as the prototype version aboard the Ailuros. Two heavy hardpoints will be modified for the inclusion of prototype Naurian-based antimatter blasters for field testing, and defense of APM assets in continuing operations. Further modifications may be made to engine and thruster systems as well as interior accommodations as necessary to support these alterations.
The Leonine will be commanded by Marcus Mekal, son of Damien Mekal, who has been previously reassigned from paramilitary divisions in the Omega systems to the Ailuros as a combat pilot and tactical advisor. Additional crew will be supplied by recruits from Durban station.
