Smoothing Blender models - AngelWilly - 01-25-2019 Hi there just quick question. When using Blender for model creation into Freelancer. Does Smooth shading (in Tools section) works in Freelancer? Right now i have cylinder with 16 sides and lets say i dont want to use high amount of Subdivision views to make it beatifully circular. So i am using Subdivision with just one View. Model looks fine but it is still not beautiful enough. So i am clicking Smooth shading in Tools section and now model looks how i wanted. ( below are attached screenshot of examples what i need ) 1) basic object https://imgur.com/a/tqAA3bs 2) object which was subdivided https://imgur.com/a/E7y9hmq 3) object which was subdivided and smoothed https://imgur.com/a/whiTwiY My question again is if Freelancer engine is able to understand what does Smooth shading is? Thank you RE: Smoothing Blender models - LaWey - 01-25-2019 Yes, freelancer engine understand what smooth means, cos it comes with normals of model. Its essential for any lowpoly modeling. You just need add custom normal split with normals edit modifier to be able set it all manually as intended. It will be saved for exported models with its normals, freelancer's format have it too. There example of lowpoly model designed with taking smooth in account, and how its look in freel. RE: Smoothing Blender models - Felsvar - 01-25-2019 Yes, as the post above said - Freelancer is able to smooth the normals of what you have done in blender. Edit: Example of a smoothed model that I am working on. RE: Smoothing Blender models - AngelWilly - 01-28-2019 Thank you guys, now my journey can begin Model completed, now i just need to "create" that ship in Freelancer. |
