IMG has history with both Bret and CR. And in vanilla, no, IMG did not like Bretonia either.
Not your issue. But Doc redacted the statement later, but please bare in mind these things can't be rushed in decision making. It seems to me that certain people have been trying to mislead the poor lad.

Nobody has been trying to mislead anybody. But Karst acting as if IMG attacking CR is some grandiose level of roleplay just makes him a laughing stock beyond the fact he's proven incapable of acting in an unbiased manner as a moderator and by extent a staff member.

IMG are by definition a CR ally. There is no standing reason to assist random scientists over your largest and most important ally. The same goes for the ALG. Shooting CR/BIS makes 0 sense from a roleplay perspective.
Exhibit A: The gaslighting in question.
Attempts to convince IMG that their formerly closest ally somehow didn't betray them, or that it was necessary, or defensive in some way.
CR always wanted it both ways. They wanted to destroy IMG, while simultaneously pretending that it wasn't really them, was necessary, they're still best friends, etc.
It's fine to betray people. That's a roleplay angle that a faction can take. It's just really pathetic when they then try to gaslight everyone about how it never actually happened.

That's totally beside the point here, this is an admin feedback thread. Rule-wise, as written, IMG can clearly defend people grouped with them when they are shot. Even against Crayter. Allies are not the same ID shooting the same ID - the only case where there were warnings and sanctions in the past when people shot each other (FR5s aside) with clear ID lines warranting the attack.
A mistake by a staff member was made in this regard, and the only question here is if the Allied line in corporate IDs that have cap access and/or SRP caps should be limited to gunboats and smaller.

Things are still tense? Sure, that's how things work. You work through rough patches, but it really doesn't make any sense that they would risk a full-blown conflict out of the blue to assist a faction that, at best, has been friendly to them for a fraction of the time they've been allied with Crayter, while also using Crayter ships against Crayter ships, not to mention being outside their own ZoI to boot.
I'm aware the rules have no issue with allowing this kind of nonsense, but there's a reason rule 0.0 exists. The IMG has no valid reason to involve itself in Inverness. The ID is literally your only justification.

I don't know about you but saying "sike lmao" and doing nothing to amend it - and then still publicly collaborating with the Bretonians that are showing interests in doing 'military show of force' really doesn't show that anything changed. Only that CR lied, or showed face, and did nothing to try to heal anything. Which is a very appropriate reaction. History is just repeating itself.
It isn't oorp hate. Unless you're admitting this whole farce that CR started is because of some kind of oorp agenda, cause people sure as hell are gonna react to bold moves.
Not like this is relevant to admin feedback anyway. If you feel like they did something wrong, go to player violations. Rule wise, they did everything right by teaming with an ally.
