Some basic questions - dr lameos - 03-15-2019
Hi all, long time no see.
I've started playing again but having a couple of basic problems:
1. I've had a private chat with someone, how do I change my default chat back to /local ? When I start a chat it defaults to that player until one of us disconnects.
2. How do I give a player some cargo? I know I can drop it in space and they can tractor it in, but what if I only want to give them a portion of my units of a commodity, or don't want somebody else to steal it?

1. Go to the chat window, and press local chat in the top left of the chat window
2. To the left of the main bar (The one with yellow, red and blue) there is a icon that appears when you selected a player near enough you that shows two ships and 2 arrows or 1 between them, click it and then you open the trade window.

hi, u can use trade request, it's 2 mini ship symbol. you can also jettison, for you to fix the quantity
for the chat you have group, local, system, private and also you can use /help when in game to have the command or again the wiki, it's fine

I've seen some mention of turret steer on some discussions about ships, what does this mean and how does one do it?

Turret steering is for ships with multiple turrets, ranging from some freighters and transports to some of the biggest dreadnoughts. You have to assign keys for Pitch up, Pitch Down, Turn Left, Turn Right, then by holding Ctrl when in turret view and scrolling with the mouse wheel to adjust the zoom on your ship, though don't fully zoom out.
